this video is a compilation of the most impressive landings during the last time: Very hard / wacky touchdowns (sometimes during strong crosswind) and also some super smooth landings. The recordings are made during the last month - mostly during a strong storm in Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. It is the third-busiest airport in Europe in terms of passenger volume and the busiest in Europe in terms of aircraft movements.

@Carolina Bluehoof Helloh! This was not meant as insult to you nor your Dad. He is the Pilot with alot of Experience and Knowledge. For me, what I can tell so far from Outside View, was a really good Landing. Speed, Angle, etc. balanced out, so it ended up in a super smooth glide in Landing. KLM must love this Pilot. Sorry for bad English!

some times hard landing because giving training to new trainee pilots, so for them understanding read of new measures, so they intentionally lands hard first few times for safety

@@--__--.___ that's a 777 mate, both of the pilots are hella experienced. You don't get a 777 directly on your first flight, you usually start with a smaller aircraft (a320 or 737) and after you complete certain flight hours you only get to the 777.

The reason for the hard landing at 1:57 is due to a late flair. If you flare too close to the ground you actually end up doing a harder landing than not flaring at all. It's because by flaring late you actually slam the wheels into the ground.

The KLM B747 had a problem with deploying spoilers. Apparently, the left spoilers did not deploy properly which caused the plane kinda tilted on the right. Observe the rudder

These videos are amazingly crisp & clear. Kudos to the Sony camera and the cameraman’s skill. I liked the Kuwait Airlines landing because at the 9:49 mark you can see a guy in the cockpit standing behind the pilots who appears to be filming the landing with a smartphone. Pretty cool.

Great video FR 👍 A great range of landings! Madeira and Schiphol can be very tricky huh! Some of those smooth landings are superb. It’s really hard to pick a favourite, but I’m going to be bold and say Thai Airways number one for me, because of the delicacy of the landing of such a huge aircraft. But the KLM A330 is a very close second. Perfect demonstrations of how you gently kiss a runway. They were all impressive though, including Kuwait Lauda and Air Canada and Singapore. Very well done to all the skilled aviators. But you also have to appreciate the skills involved in heavy winds too. Madeira can be extremely challenging as we know, and takes serious skill and judgement to get a plane down sometimes. Thank you for your efforts in bringing us this.

Always amazes me how slow the bigger planes look on their approach, almost mesmerisingly slow... but to see them slewed with a crosswind is a completely different story - once again, great footage... and most thankfully no blaring music, emojis or startled expressions hacked from Star Trek or other such films....

Hard landings don't cause the smoke, it is the wheels briefly skidding as they accelerate from stationary to the speed of the aircraft

"well.....you found it..." ouch! the vibration on the main gear after initial td, you can literally see the massive amount of kinetic energy transfer, gonna need a maintenance check up after that one

There were so many Amsterdam landings in here haha... the crosswinds there are always bad but surprised it wasent wet/raining in those cause every time I’ve landed at Schiphol it’s always raining haha
