Still have my little Bauer 25 I bought brand new in 1977. Got it out to shoot last month. While the sights are terrible, they don't snag on anything, and it shot surprisingly accurately at 7 yards! In my hand, it is definitely easy to tell it is a quality made handgun. I love the tiny guns and your reviews! Thx!

My First Handgun. I bought it in 1987 from a friend that wasnt into guns and wanted to get rid of it. I paid $30. It was a Bauer marked model with mother of pearl grips. It wasnt reliable at first but after a box of ammo broke in nicely and stopped Jamming. The most reliable .25's I have owned was a Browning Baby from the 1950's and a Beretta 950BS. I love this mouse gun series as I have always enjoyed them. Especially .25acp.

If this is the same design as the Baby Browning avoid it like the plague. I inherited a Baby Browning and it has fatal, and I mean fatal, flaw. Specifically, the safety is two or three piece pressed in device that can rotate in such a way as to show safe when in fact it is in fire position. I could see no way to fail safe the damned thing other then to hack saw it off all together. In addition, re-assembly is tenuous. In the condition I inherited it it would not function at all due to improper re-assembly. There are other versions that have back strap safeties and may even some with hammers. DO NOT MESS WITH THIS ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN or any of its clones.

sootch00 I always carry a .25 acp as a BUG/fun gun. I have a dozen or so mouse guns now and love them all. I wish all the great companies would start making them again. My Bodyguard is like shooting a .357 mag. The .25 acp is fun to shoot and tiny guns are just plain fun to shoot.

Local gun shop had one of these (Bauer brand) some years ago in their 'used handgun' case for $125.00 and and it looked brand new. I already had a .25 ACP pistol at the time and couldn't justify buying another one but in retrospect I wish I would have snagged it, if for no other reason that I really like the little Bauer/Fraser .25 ACP pistols; and the price for good used specimens now is double what these typically went for some years ago.

I have to add that I love this mouse gun series. I have mouse guns in both 25 acp and 22lr. They are just fun to shoot and can be a back up if needed. If I had a home invasion I would stick my Model 21a in 25 acp in my pocket while I carried my 9 mm in my hand. Keep up the great videos, so fun to watch.

Been really enjoying the small pistol vids. Real nice back up pistols. And I have to tell you I am sure that round will really hurt like hell at 5-7 yards. These pocket pistols are for close up, last resort use, and they work great just for that. I would prefer having one these pistols as a back over having a knife.

I was at a gun show a couple days ago and saw a Bauer 25 in what I would consider very good condition for $280. I could not resist and bought it, and the guy would not budge on the price. The guy said it was functional but I disassembled and immediately saw that the firing pin was broke off at the base....so I ordered a new firing pin and spring from PSA yesterday. Irritates me that the guy misrepresented the gun...whatever. Anyhow, the gun looks like it has not been shot more than maybe 50 times at most (I think the broke pin had to do with people dry firing it at the show). I really like the little guns...I also have a NAA 22 mag / 22LR revolver (1 1/8 " barrel) that is a kick to shoot. I like big guns too. I bought a S&W 460 a couple months ago....does have a pretty fierce kick shooting the 325 grain HSM hard cast loads though. Never know when a 1500 lb griz will come walking up the alley behind my house in Dallas..haha. Oh yes, I really like your video.....

Wow- brings back some memories! Many years ago (late 80's) I carried one. I had a good friend make a flatter pair of sheet Al grips, and I carried it (taped to the inside of my thigh) when I went out, "clubbing". I still have that lil mouse gun, out in the safe. Of course, now I carry a Glock 22 now. Or if "concealment is a real issue, a .25 Beretta w/custom grips. Still- a fun gun, well made, from the "past"!

Good video. I had one of the original stainless Bauers back in the 70s. I loved it was stainless and small. That sums up the good features. I was never able to get the gun to fire more than 3 shots in rapid fire. In slow fire once in a while I could get it to do an entire magazine, but not often. I bought 2 extra magazines, but that made no difference in reliability. As a pocket pistol it was unsafe as sometimes the gun's safety lever would change position inside a pocket. Obviously yours is more reliable than mine was. I sold it and do not miss it.

I've got the Bauer that a guy gave me a couple years ago - It needed a new safety, which is how I found this video... Damn impossible to find a thorough disassembly video or how-to... good thing I'm capable of figuring it out!... What a PITA the little thing is! I'm also amazed that it hasn't ripped open my hand when I shoot it - if you've got big/meaty hands the slide might get hungry and bite!

I have to say, I'm a huge fan of mouse guns. I'm so glad most of these oldies are relatively cheap. The new stuff is either polymer framed, which simply does not feel like the same quality, or a bit more than I'm willing to pay for a mouse gun.

I bought a Bauer version of this gun in 1980. As SC didn't have "shall issue" means of legal carry in those days, it was my means of self-defense as I walked eveywhere in the small, rough, town I lived in at the time, during warm or hot weather. I was grateful for the real Fall and Winter we had back then because I could conceal a .357 or .44 magnum easily under a heavy Winter coat. My Bauer also had those Godawful pearl grips on it. I never got around to spending the extra dough for a better looking and thinner set of wood grips. Unlike friends' guns of the same type, who enjoyed superb reliability with their Bauers, mine would jam about every third shot, no matter what ammo, which magazine (of about 6 I had) or how clean it was. Just my luck. :-(

Thank you for making this video. A Bauer Arms .25 ( just like the one in the video) is actually the first handgun I ever purchased. I bought if for 75 bucks at a pawn shop my first year in the Army. Since then I've grown my handgun collection substantially and this has literately sat in my safe untouched for years. This motivated me to order a new part (cocking indicator asse.) for it and give her some attention.

Back in the day, the word was that the fraser’s stainless was brittle and would occasionally snap at the rear of the slide.the slide’s held on by a small hollow tab at it’s rear. If that snaps, you get the slide in your face. Rumor or truth? I’d love to know.

Hey Sootch, I just watched this review after seeing a Bauer for sale locally here in Utah. I have an idea about “Fraser” vs “Bauer.” My Take is that the pistol Make is RB Industries (Bauer) and at some point, Bauer just named that particular model the, “Fraser,” making it ahead of its time with a NAMED model vs a numbered model common to the day.

I have one of these. nice and small. and yes I use it. I remember reading about these a long time ago. it seems that "bauer" went through a divorce, and the company shut down, but i think a sister in law bought the company and began making them again but since the original company shut down, she had to use "fraser" in order to avoid some legal problems ( it was something like that). very good gun, great for when you can't carry something larger or as a back up. shoot someone 2 times in the face and they get the idea. nice video.
