Too deep for the mainstream listener, too lyric for the average translator of meaning in music, too detached from the painted canvas stage music turned into, decades ago. I still treasure the few cds I own of the band. They're pure gold. No easy listening there. They demand full commitment. And reward you for it. Cheers, lads.
@MrJeremytpage Жыл бұрын
Agreed. I think the reason they weren’t more popular is try googling live albums or live concerts. You can find them, but only if you know what you are searching for. Another really good vocalist and lyricists is Vast. I wish more people knew them as well. Jon Crosby has a heart of gold.

This is probably one of the best songs in the world, no exaggeration.. It is recorded so crisp and clear, their playing is fantastic, the chord progressions used and how its layered w/vocals, build up to the solo is fantastic, the modulation after the solo just adds to the epicness, Ed's singing is absolutely superb, the lyrics are beautiful. Its a song that after 4 minutes and 40 seconds you take your iPod back out and skip back just so you can listen to it again... This song is a masterpiece

The small things matters, like love and kindness !!! The rest is the matrix we live in trying to confuse us, find joy in simple things like animals and nature or hobbies !!! Freedom in self is more valuable than gold or money 😁🖐️

Which was the message if Christ,that we live on...this world,is not our world,this world,is death,and our burdens are over when this life is over,but for some reason,our flesh ,our culture tells us we must live on,this is our life,don't die,you can live with all our medical miracles...it's a culture,a world that refuses to let us go,as to leave us bound to this earthly world,most cristians forget,and hold on to it,because they've forgotten,that this is not our world. Jesus wanted and had a way of living that would give us a little bit of paradise,had we chose to live the way he did,and said to follow...a guide to make some if this hell turn to an earthly paradise,to as much as we said,we love him,we follow him...we followed a name. We followed an idea of a Christ we no longer know,if we ever knew,because the person I know,is far from who he really was. He said,do as I do...he offered a way for us to live at peace,for both heaven and Earth...but sadly,the way were living,far apart from his ways,I'm afraid most of us miss our heavenly heaven also,because of what our hearts became...I'm afraid were so bound and in love with this world,the moment we feel all of the tribulation,our spirit will be crushed,because we weren't prepared for another reality...this was the world we lived,and our spirit was crushed because it was fixed upon it,which will pass on to our resurrection...had we only prepared for the real eternity,not if this world...but I'm glad you felt that way,glad you realized that this life,isn't the end. .because it isn't...just don't forget that...when all else dad,remember,that there is hope,if you simply don't set your mind on this Earth...and I hope,when I go through loss,I can do the same,nomatyer how I lose ,nomatter what way I lose them,I hope God gives me the strength to not focus,but eliminate that horrible thought,but focus on the peace of what's next,and pass that on to my family,so that God can do the same for them,because in the end,we are all one,but only when we pass it along,so I shall...God bless

Most people say that they wish live was a more successful band but I think they are the perfect example of how not being in the mainstream can help a band they made the music that they loved and that we loved and I think that that’s just enough for me
@52BLUE3 жыл бұрын
You know how you hear a song and you wish you could have it playing in the background for one of those moments in life that changes its course entirely, due to how impactful that moment is? I'm happy to say I fell in love for the first time slow dancing with my first girlfriend to this song. 2001 was a huge shift for me. 17 years old and in puppy love with somebody who would go on to break my heart, only to reconnect years later to make things right and spend one more night together between relationships. My house was right across the road from the beach and as teenagers we would always go there to be alone together. Years after that I got the chance to interview Ed for a magazine I was writing for and I got to share this with him and the conversation opened up so much compared to just minutes before when he assumed I was just another street press writer getting another interview out of the way. No, Ed. Huge fan thanks to what you've added to my life. It was already a beautiful song before all of this, but again, the fact that I have all these memories attached to it just makes it something else entirely. Fills my heart every time.

Every song ever played by this INCREDIBLE band resonates throughout my entire body!! Ed is by far my favorite singer, song writer and human in general. I've seen them 3 times when they came to NZ and I gotta tell ya this band performing in concert sound incredible!!! Some bands some terrible when live in concert but this band sound just like a crystal clear CD. I'm literally grieving the years gone by when all I ever played was live!! My babies are now 22 and 26 years and they grew up listening to this amazing band!! Thank you Live for many many years of listening and loving your music xx

I just went to see them onthe 4th of April in NZ. Yeah I agree. He sounded amazing!!!! Couldn't say the same for Incubus, who played after Live would you believe! I actually esp'd they were coming to NZ when I was on the toilet one day! Haha. Love how spiritual their lyrics are. I started loving them after someone was singing 'Run to the water" to me in 2006 in a dream I had. ❤❤❤❤❤❤

The water of this song is a reference to love. In a desert deprived of water the protagonist bemoans and reminisces the earth mother wondering what has happened to make this world a soulless and loveless place. Although he sees people going through the nounces of courtship (Adam and eve..) there is no real loyalty as he observes that Babylon is in every town. As he comes to the realisation that the world is just a dream. Nothing really matters in the end.

One of my favourite band and way underrestimated. People complaining about rock music being dead should try them or Alter Bridge, or songs like this I just bumped on kzfaq.info/get/bejne/n5eWibWIm-CXnmg.html

"Out beyond all the break in the waves and tribulation, It's the place and the home of ascended souls, who swam out there in love!" Some of the most beautiful and thought provoking music ever written. Love music that's both relevant, beautiful and still rocks!!

His voice here is off the charts. He has a ton of dynamic range (quiet to loud) and a ton of tonal range (low notes to high notes). This is what it means to dominate with your voice. He knows precisely when and how to be soft and when to dial up his power. It's an incredible gift that few singers have.

Water is the source of life and represents emotion in abundance.... Love! I think that Ed is a spiritual guy and it shows in his songs. Run to the Water is one of the most beautiful songs ever written! You don't need to have a specific faith to feel the divine power through the lyric.🙏🏽🌊✨🌈

Agree! Someone sung part of this song to me in a dream in 2006. It was beautiful and I broke down when I finally found the song and read the lyrics etc. Definitely spiritual ❤
