My dad's been a long haul truck driver pretty much all his working life. He just turned 75 the other day and very next day took a load to South Dakota. That same day this song appeared on my Spotify recommended list, and it just grabbed me. Mom passed away a few years back and they stuck together like glue. So when I heard the line "always thought she would be there at the end of the line" I welled up with tears. Fred, you just got a new fan! Simple song, yet so beautiful.

This song is so true for us old school truckers. This generation has no idea about west coast turns and back row parties and chasing the black dog down the highway. Those days are gone forever

Does anyone else think Fred was a driver? I first heard this song a couple weeks ago and I can hear the miles in his voice. I'm not ashamed to admit I cried.. I have over million miles in a truck but I'm sick now and can't drive. But this song takes me back. I love it so much!

I don't think he was. As far as I know, he owned a flower greenhouse / wholesale operation, but of course, he's driven his tour bus across North America many, many times.

Another example of Fred's ability to capture real life and soul in a song. He should be way more famous than he is. His songwriting stands up to the best anywhere anytime. He is a modern day Woody Guthrie out there constantly touring bringing his songs to the world

Lol same here. I came here to listen to 18 wheels and found this. Repeat, repeat, repeat Perfect song for our Trucker Convoy Protest to Ottawa this week. It's making history here in Canada. They are on way from every single province and US. Followers and members from all over the World. They started this because our Government wants to make vaccine mandate for them to keep their jobs. Absolutely BS. This seriously is all over the news stations everywhere. If you join group Convoy to Ottawa 2022 the videos of the Convoy from all over and millions of supporters . It's seriously the biggest thing ever in Canadian History. Check it out

It just struck me, this song is just Wagon Wheel. Has Bob figured it out yet? Is Bob into suing people? Great song though. Seriously, I love it. My friend Anthony S plays it a lot and I learnt it from listening to him and here on you tube.. Funny how it took a while for the Wagon Wheel thing to hit me, but now I cannot unhear it.
