Back home in Friesland Fred & Tif did visit a morning radioshow for Omrop Fryslân. I did record it but my technical skills are not better than setting up a gopro in front of the screen.

The first time I heard this, it took me straight back to 1988, I'd split up with the "Dragon" she kicked me out with my sleeping-bag and truck fridge. I spent the next 3 months working for a company that had "as much work as I could do". A personal best of 106 1/2 hours without sleep (all work) truck broke down or I'd have done more. This song is like a window in to my life those three months.

This man really is one incredible singer-songwriter. His songs of this sort----good lord---they sure are both beautiful and so bitterly painful at the same time---just like this life itself is. Such a sad thing that this man, who for the better part of 40 years or so--has run it hard to make a living playing the thing that he was put on this Earth to do---write and perform some damn fine REAL MUSIC. He surely did find a great life's partner in Tiff Gin--they really are "made for each other." We should all be so lucky to find out what we were made for and to find a great partner to go along for the ride.....

Fred, you've worked hard, has earned your respect, paid your dues but not respected or known as you deserve. Your Multi- talented, don't much follow main stream crap and write from experience with heart and soul! Stand up and take a bow handsome! I keep missing your Alberta tour, but, dying to see you in person! I was introduced to your sound and instantly fell you, by another musician who is driven and finally jumped all the life hurtles and can now spread his wings do what he's always wanted...tour and sing. Fred, you are one of his biggest inspirations, because of that man, I follow you and make my peeps hear you too. Keep on truckin' music man! I love you!

This kind raw and sparse beauty is all too rare these days. There is an etherealness to the real lived pain conveyed all too powerfully. The mark of a true artist. Thank you Fred Eaglesmith! And yes, Tiff's back-up is amazing, . . . an intrinsic part of this moving performance.
