Jorge Gonzalez is a queer first-generation Chicano and an Iraq anti-war combat veteran. Following his military service, Gonzalez has spent the last 8 years dedicated to working in the anti-war movement. He is currently a member of About Face: Veterans Against the War, Black & Pink, and a volunteer at QDEP (Queer Detainee Empowerment Project).
FRED (Facing Race, Elevating Democracy) Talks is part of Race Forward’s Mass Freedom project. Mass Freedom seeks to bridge movements to end systems of mass criminalization by 1) elevating the experiences of those who have been most directly affected by these systems, and by 2) empowering communities of color to unite amidst a political landscape that grows more threatening with each day.
