The Original Kung Fu Comedy! Won Fei Hung (Jackie Chan) stars as the mischievous young son of a martial arts school master who is constantly clowning around when he should be learning kung fu. After his comic antics injure the son of a powerful local man, his father enlists the help of his sadistic uncle to teach his son a little self-discipline. This strange man, who has a reputation for crippling his students, tries to teach Fei Hung a bizarre style of kung fu. At first, Fei Hung resists, but after losing a fight with a local assassin who has been hired to kill his father, he realizes he must master the special art of the "Drunken Boxer." DRUNKEN MASTER was the second collaboration between director Yuen Wo Ping (fight choreographer for The Matrix and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon) and Jackie Chan. Blending intricate martial arts moves with Jackie Chan's trademark slapstick comedy, DRUNKEN MASTER ushered in the new genre of kung fu comedy and established Chan as its uncontested king.

*this is what i love about jackie's movies made in hk: the camera during action scenes are steady and not shaking unlike the other movies made elsewhere. as jackie said when the camera shakes the actor don't know how to fight*

@@kirbyyeet3003 He's saying it that way because he tried to say it more eloquently and then went "sod it" and bluntly explained what he meant. It's probably about on par with how the Chinese dialogue sounded; his voice in the Chinese dub won't even have been the actor's.

Uh no Jackie chan had his own stunt team of people he picked who were known for being great in the industry and was surrounded by talent he fucking lived in a school for actors and martial artists in his youth

Jackie Chan started off as a stunt man in Bruce Lee films. So he knows all about what to do and what not to do when performing a stunt. True, their films were very low on the budget side but look at the outcome. That’s why his films always are a work of art to me

This movie is the best display of the drunken form and the animal forms ive ever seen documented. Jackie performs very rare styles with absolute perfection. You will never see some of this film done anywhere else. When he demonstrates the 8 drunken gods, to my knowledge thats the only time its ever been filmed by anyone.

This is actually Yuen Woo Pings choreography, choreographer of the matrix, crouching tiger etc still great performance by Jackie and I believe he did come up with the eight drunken gods demonstration

@@bkamara1 No, its a real martial arts. The shaolin monks invent it actually, particularly the silly, disobedient and sober monks 🤣. The problem is the practicioner literally drinks liquor before doing the drunken fist exercise and a lot of these practicioners died due to too much alcohol drinking.

I know jackie chan revised his drunken master role in a western film I think called forbidden kingdom where a kid gets sent to the forbidden Kingdom, feats jet li revising his son goku aka monkey king role and a few other famous kung fu fighters from films too
