Hi Jeremy, I just passed the CCNA exam a few days ago. I used your Anki cards extensively in my studying. They are well-made cards, easy to study and clear, covering a lot of important details. I also made my own cards, about 2700. Anki and Boson practice exams helped me pass CCNA on the 1st try. I scored 745, 890, 925 on Boson exams (1st attempt) and 900 on the real CCNA exam. So thank you for your Anki cards and for recommending Boson practice tests. I can't wait for your CCNP course. I am taking a short break and start my CCNP study soon.

23:03 "should be changed regularly", I'm sure Jeremy knows that but just for a broader audience: NIST actually does NOT recommended to change passwords regularly as it tends to get people to go for easy to remember and therefore weaker passwords. Machine generated passwords (and therefore password managers) would be the ideal recommendation.

22:52 Often, that should be replaced by "should be randomly generated" as user tend to use passwords that are familar to them, if they need to change them. This tendency can be exploited by dictionary attacks, combined with social engineering.

My only mistake was Q-2; I selected C. Because I'm stupid and I didn't read carefully the question. Exploitation is when you actually attack this weakness to exploit the system. I have to be more careful when answering questions, especially tricky ones. Thanks Jeremy. BTW, from Day 1, I have everything written down on paper.

Something about ssh and vlans is confusing me. I keep trying and getting it wrong. If I have multiple vlans on a switch, do I need to put the management intfc vlan as native so that ssh traffic isn't blocked/tagged? If I have multiple vlans and subnets, which IP default-gateway do I assign on the switch? Do I have to just use different int vlans for each subnet (if I did that, can't I only config 1 default gateway on the switch in global config)? Trying to sort this out has had me puzzled for a very long time. Thanks to any.

Hi Jeremy, since DHCP exhaustion happens by taking up all the IP addresses in the DHCP pool, would it be right to say that if the network is configured with PAT / NAT overload, this is not a risk to the network?
@JeremysITLab

It will still be a risk. Even if PAT is configured to allow communication over the Internet, the host still needs to be able to get a private IP address from the DHCP server.
