Firstly, Gamer takes place in a dystopian future where people play as real life criminals who die in real life, it's so fantastical and unrealistic it couldn't possibly relate to actual video games. This was the most ridiculous most fun movie I'd seen in a long time. Love the ending. If you're watching trailer, haven't seen it, and are thinking it's a silly waste of time, you're spot on. It's a silly, perfect way to blow some time. If you've seen it and still think it was a waste of time, then ah well, we can't all be cool. As Dude would say, *_"CATCHPHRASE!"._*

Umh. Nothing against or for Tom Cruise, but if you can't tell the difference between a green/blue screen or CG effect and real actual chase scene, which was made in MI: Fallout, then I don't really trust your judgement. This movie is fantasy, where MI is action, spy genre and Tom does most of his stunts and everything is super close to practical. So, no.

There are very few movies out there where you think ya know in 10 years, were gonna be where this film says. Living in online fantasy worlds, and thanks to spaceX it will be a hybrid between Wall-E and Free Guy. I can so see this happening IN my lifetime, 30 years in computers nothing amazes me anymore, nothing. And this is almost certanly how the first AI's will come about, thru an online game with millions of players where the "Data Set" can always learn and evolve. We live in intresting times folks

I think, as gamers, the idea that the characters and NPC's might actually be sentient is something we all consider at some point in time, even if only rhetorically. Even if it's just something like, "man, if these people were real they'd really be hating me."
