Make the your soil the healthiest, richest and best soil by focusing on feeding the soil microbial biology - instead of feeding your plants! The reason this works best is because the soil microbes themselves are what actually feeds the majority of your plant's root system through mycorrhizal symbiosis!

New subscriber from Alberta Canada. Your idea is a “first” I’m thinking. Congrats to your Dad and you on the channel. It’s wholesome, impressively informative and common sense driven, with a lot of good old fashion know-how and knowledge. Have a great day.

What I’d like to see how you would go about turning a grassy plot into a weed free garden. The beginning gardener is coming here for direction. That would make a great video!

Great idea, sharing your wealth of knowledge is marvelous, thankyou. I've been gardening, cooking and working with tools for 50 or so years and still love to learn new things. It would be great to see more of some cooking recipes of the produce you grow too 😁🌱☀️

Do you have a book recommendation that will give us an idea to which amendments apply to the soil per plant? Or, how to understand the amendments and apply them to the soil? I enjoy your channel and you and your father are a blessing! God is Good!

Hey, I’ve got a question. Not sure I’m doing it right, but here’s my question: I’m in the NW Florida Panhandle. We’ve got sandy soil. I have about 250 sq ft of raised beds in my backyard that I’ve amended with compost made from grass clippings and leaves. I’ve gotten concerned about remineralization of my soil. What’s the best way to do that without breaking the bank? God bless you both! Jesus loves you as well.

My go to for minerals is kelp and rock dust. Fertrell has a good product called mineralizer so that is another way to do it. Kelp has somewhere around 66 minerals in it and of course rock dusts have a lot of minerals as well. If you add a little fulvic acid that will chelate the minerals so the plant can take it up better. Hope this is helpful! 😊 Have a wonderful growing season!

@@GardeningHomesteadingWoodwork If I could ask a couple of follow up questions, first, are crushed oyster shells as good a source of minerals as rock dust? I’m on the Gulf Coast, and oyster shells are plentiful and often free. You can also get a 50# bag of them for less than $20, at Tractor Supply. They are sold as chicken feed. I know they contain lots of calcium, but don’t know how they compare to rock dust for other minerals and trace elements. Thanks for your consideration and may God bless you in your endeavors.

Oyster shell flour is much finer grind than crushed shell for feed. It's mainly for calcium which is good in preventing BER(blossom end rot). Rock dust has many many more minerals than oyster shells. Kelp is quicker in its uptake than rock dust plus it has a lot of other very beneficial aspects to it. Thorvin brand is the best.
