I like this idea, I have the POF1400 ACE too and am about to build a mitre saw station in my small garage. I think I can adapt this idea to put in a small 400mm sliding insert piece with the router screwed underneath as you have done. Then I can easily slide it out to adjust the depth as I don’t have a lift, with just a couple of screws to hold the insert into my bench. Thanks for making the video

Thanks, great video. I just bought the GOF 1300 which is a very similar router from bosch, however, the holes you used to attach the router to the piece of wood with the 6 mm screws are blocked and I can't insert the screws through them. Did you have the same problem? did you drill these holes? Thanks, SF

Thanks for the simple guide to making this table. I have the POF1400ACE and am having a go at making this table. I'm using 18mm plywood and have (currently) left the router sole plate in position (as I don't have a centring cone.) However, I'm having a problem plunging the router bit through the plywood (roughly 10min into your video). I have a router guide bearing clearance hole cut into the plywood, but when I fit the roundover bit (1/4" shank with 6mm radius roundover bit) I don't seem to have sufficient plunge travel to get through the plywood. Any advice would be appreciated.
@KHKDK4 жыл бұрын
Hi there well your problem is that your plywood is to thick or you router bit is too short .... a possible fix is to rout some of the plywood off so you can place your base of the router in the cut out... take off half the thickness of the plywood or something like that. you can make it as fancy as you will like... draw round the base and cut it out so it fits perfect or just rout out enough so there is room fore it ... it will make no difference fore its practical use just keep it safe don`t make the plywood to thin so the jig become unsafe. best regards Kim.

Thanks for making this video. I have the Bosch 1400 ACE router, which is very similar to yours, so this is a great video. I was wondering if the wood will not start to sag due to the weight of the router?
@KHKDK4 жыл бұрын
hi there thank you for the kind words... to answer your question .. yes in time it will i do not keep the router on there fore days on end.. solution to that can be eider use a thicker peace of wood or screw on some support underneath Best reguards kim
@gunnars6354 ай бұрын
Looks like a great plan, but will the router bit cut deep enough?? Where did you buy your router bIts? Using Bosch router bIts and I dont think the shaft will be long enough if the furniture plate is more than 10-12mm thick…

Great idea! I'll be doing this with my router when I get it. This is also convenient if you don't have the space to have a "real" router table. Also thanks for the tip about using the inner thing in a ballpoint pen - now I have a use for my ballpoint pens 😂 Are you enjoying the Bosch 1400? This is the one I'm thinking of getting, but I've only been researching for a couple of hours, and there's also the blue Bosch at just a little higher price, or the Makita P0900 🤔 Don't wanna buy garbage, but I also don't wanna go crazy as I'm not gonna be a heavy user, just have some projects planned that really need a tool like this, and I'm starting to think of more cases where it'd come in handy.

@KHKDK3 жыл бұрын
oooh thats a hard one ... dont remember 10mm i think... you have a router so thikness do not matter jusy rout out some room for the router so the bits can reach .... just be mindfull not to weekend the ply too much.

my AEG table router recently died and replaced it with a bosh plunge router, ive attached it to my existing table basically the same way as in the video. my only concern is that the locking mechanism on the height adjustment would end up slipping due to vibration and change the height while busy. is this a problem you have encountered at all?
@frankmc429428 күн бұрын
If you haven't already done so, and are still looking for a solution, add a locking nut to stop the adjustment from changing

do you raccomend an extension for the bits?
@KHKDK4 жыл бұрын
Hi there Roscoe. Well i do not have any experience with extensions. however i know a few people have the issue that the "tabletop" they use are too thick, in that regard i recommend that you rout out a space for the router so the marital is thinner were the router sit. That way you should be ok with your normal length bits. regards Kim.

You should try sharpening your drill bits !
