FREE Snapper Snowblower Found In Ditch Will it Run?

I found this Snapper 5HP snowblower in the ditch left for dead on the way to the shop for FREE. So, of course, I couldn't pass it up. I checked with the previous owner and the Gal said it just stopped running some time ago, and they couldn't get it running again. Think this old machine will come back to life and run again?

@@DScaglione. Same here, and if you go back and look closely. There seems to be another envelope under his note. I'm betting it's a Christmas card. Just for the added bonus of his wobble pop tasting a smidge better when he gets home. Nice bloke & I like his brothers too. Like to sit down and have a cold snack, or 3, with them all one day.

It's the difference between static pain for a long time vs dynamic pain in a short burst I have used a couple 2x8 planks for a ramp up to the top of an old picnic table to work on our snow thrower, lawn mower or generator.

I've got a Craftsman snow blower just as old runs like a charm you can't kill the older ones. New carbs are only 15.00 on Amazon and come w a new primer. I'm really impressed he picked that thing up like it was nothing those things are heavy

Great video and awesome gesture. My dad (84) has still has his 1962 Ariens snow blower with a 6 HP Techumseh "Snow King" Ezee Start engine. It has started on the first or second pull for 59 years and get used every winter. My dad still clears his neighbors drive ways after every snow fall.

That was a top of the line snow blower when new. I would say it's from the late 80's. I used to work on them years ago when I worked for Sears Service Center. Man don't hurt your back!

@Butter Ball the only problem I've seen on these is the auger/impeller bushings go bad, but those are on the mistreated ones. Last one I picked up I just kept the engine, rest was beat to hell n back, cracks and barely holding together.

You are amazing and really a great guy, I myself just did the same thing for my neighbor she is an older lady but I fixed up her snow blower for her. She tried to pay me but I told her that's what neighbors are for. I do also help her out by snowblowing her driveway out when I do mine

Mustie has a motorcycle lift that he uses a lot for small engine projects. Save your back. That lift you did with the snow blower hurt my back just watching. 👍👍 for returning it to the mom.

Derek, ya can't do a proper Mustie1 type video without a lift! Bruce Pender always runs his camera so that it looks like he has a fast robotic leg when he lifts up his mowers and such.

That thing is just like my 30 something year old Roper snowblower with an 8hp Tecumseh. Got it from my step mom after my dad passed away some years ago. Had been sitting for probably 10 years. Was able to clean the carb and replace the friction drive wheel and have been using it ever since. My neighbors are amazed how far it shoots snow. Very nice of you to donate it back to those in need.
