Today we are installing our new openroad 4wd free standing 270 Awning on our overland build toyota 4runner. This 270 awning is sweet and probably one of the best looking awnings out! i didnt know what a difference it could make at camp until it was on the truck and i tried it out and the fact that it is free standing with no pole is way less hassle to deal with. We will be doing an unboxing review and full install video of the canopy including a little diy custom mounting with the brackets the awning provided. Awesome video! Question, did you have to drill into your rails in order to install the mounts? I have a Sherpa crestone rack and curious if that is the only way to install the mounts. Keep up the great content!

I noticed your brackets now sit about 5/8” higher than the roof rack. What did you have to do to adapt your tent back on?

Yes! I am running eh victory 4x4 rooftop tent mounts, they are made for my roof rack.
