Thanks for sharing design apps and websites that are truly free and can benefit people in different ways who do print on demand. Because since doing my research, a lot of the popular ones neither save as a transparent background or are geared toward freestyling your own design as we watched you do in the duck and ox tutorials. But I do also like the idea of having a template or design already there and free for use that you can manipulate and change around the way you like. That's really neat.

What do you do to protect your original illustrations from others that misappropriate them?

I try to put watermarks where I can but honestly it's really tough trying to keep it from being stolen.

Hi Juna, I have a question. Is it possible to the edit the wording on a SVG file without using Cricut? I want to modify the quote on a SVG I purchased but I can't figure this out. I don't have Affinity Designer, but I have tried doing this in Canva, Inkscape, and Gravit. I've only been able to change the color of the text in the SVG but not modify the wording.

I'm not an expert but I don't think you can.... I believe that once something is converted into an SVG file it is an object. Even text is converted into an object.... so you wouldn't be able to edit it by clicking on the text... you would have to remove it entirely and create a different word(s) instead.

@@DetourShirts I thought so. I actually wanted to just add one word so I could target a specific niche. I don't know what font that use for the design, so if I change it, I might it up and I really like the design. Oh well. Thank you for your response!

Depends on what you got.... if you are new at selling tshirts I would start with a stand alone... if you got a brand and a lot of followers, shopify could work better.

Shopify IS a stand alone website? I mean it gives you easy tools to make it look any way you want, most POD apps integrate seamlessly and no one even knows you are using Shopify to run it if you remove the little “powered by Shopify” on the bottom. If you’re not a web developer I don’t know why you’d not use Shopify over trying to build something from scratch.

They have some good designs....I would still do research and figure out what works. I also would change up the design so it's not something different than what others may have.
