Kimi Werner has a dream come true when she goes freediving for scallops for the very first time. This underwater treasure hunt comes with a few challenges and a whole lot of beauty! So much beauty, that it is celebrated with a date night on the old dock, cooking up fresh scallops for the first time. But the true magic of this episode is the tribute to Buddy and nature and the time they spent together in Alaska!

Somebody gave this a thumbs down. That must be somebody blind and deaf because is pure brilliance!! The ode to the savage one, just WOW!! Gave me goosebumps. Buddy has two amazing teachers in life. And his beautiful smile tells me he knows. Sad this is the last episode in the Alaska series. But I just know there is much more to come. 10 times better then any show on TV. Keep on be you! Living in New Zealand down under and viewing, your life warming experiences, above and below the water with family makes, kai food gathering worth every breath. My eyes almost tear up seeing the aroha love, healthy respect for marine life knowing the impact of changes on a commercial scale may upset the ecco system of the food cupboard. Was excited to watch this, and everything was going fine until the ending tribute to Buddy- absolutely caught me in the feels and felt suddenly overwhelmed by the love you two have for him and the realisation that these videos are a way to document these trips for him. Suddenly I was crying just like Buddy does! What a wonderful thing it is to follow along on that journey with you guys! As others have already stated, the buddy ending was fantastic. Buddy and this look into your family life is a happiness to those of us that share with you your videos. It goes well beyond just diving. It's a statement of finding true values in life. We will always be grateful to you for this. And yes, this one elemakule has seen too many wild places gone forever. Some people only see dollars signs and can't understand beyond that. I pity them. I feel sorry for them that they'll never know true wealth, the wealth that doesn't fit in a wallet or bank account. They'll always be the poorer for that. mahalo

Those are the biggest scallops I’ve have ever seen. And what ever they are snacking on has them a rich pink colour. I have been in the water all my life. Cracking show.

Kimi, I’m blown away you haven’t had fresh scallops! Considering all of the places you have dove around the world! Are there scallops around Hawaii? Fresh scallops tend to get a little chewy when cooked. Try them raw. They are super sweet. You’ve inspired my to purchase my first spear gun.

I loved your entire video until the end. We are a state of resources and renewable resources. This whole video presented that. Things can be done responsibly just like in Sweden, Norway, Finland, Iceland and in this video. The Tongass forest is vast and only a small portion can be logged. Loosen up. Ranchers, loggers, fishermen, etc all enjoy nature too. BC has been logging for centuries and it’s still a massive and beautiful landscape. And the logging culture is not a bad one. It’s part of the rustic charm of the people of that province. They are hardy souls with a job that is a lifestyle of joy of working in nature.
