Dungeness Crabs and Spot Prawns - Alaska Adventure - Crabs and Shrimp - Ama Ebi - Kimi Werner Recipe

Kimi Werner

Kimi Werner

Күн бұрын

The Alaskan Adventure continues. Using fish guts and carcasses from previous catches, Kimi Werner baits the crab and shrimp pots in hopes to secure another fine dinner. She shows us how to make ama ebi, Japanese style, by frying the heads and preparing the shrimp tail as raw nigiri sushi. The crab is used for a get together with loved ones, tucked away in a cozy cabins as the wolves howl through the night.

So enjoying your videos thank you. We lived in Hope Alaska and our daughter was born there she went clam digging, hooligan fishing with us. She was fed dungeness crabs, salmon and all things from the sea we are grateful for. Just brings back memories. Buddy is adorable 😊

Thanks for promoting Alaska seafood. With the shrimp, you definitely want to let them sit in seawater for a while and pop the heads right away. Definitely don’t freeze them, pack them in ice, keeps them hood for 3-5 days. If you want to freeze then freeze them in seawater. If you ever want more I can send them to Hawaii no problem (I commercially fish em!)

Well, using those shrimp like that was instructive. It's great that you can trust the water to be clean enough to eat them raw. I worked on some shrimp boats in the Gulf of Mexico, and that wasn't cool. Frying the shrimp heads would be a good idea. Thanks for your efforts. Way cool. I like the way you settle down and take your time to take a shot.

Love how you use every part of every animal in your hunting and cooking. Now I want to go crab and shrimp fishing in Alaska, not just for Salmon. I have been crabbing in Oregon when we lived there. We caught massive Dungeness crabs and we dug up clams and cockles, I made the best clam chowder ever with those. It really doesn't beat freshly caught food. Really enjoying your Alaska adventures.
