This week, the European Parliament adopted a very controversial document - the European Media Freedom Act. On the one hand, it does contain positive clauses, the proper application of which would allow traditional media to become more independent. On the other hand, it has already been dubbed "a weapon against Ilon Musk" on the sidelines. And we are talking, of course, not only about the former Twitter, now social network X, but about any social networks that will be subject to total control.
And the most important thing, apart from vague criteria for assessing the limits of "freedom", is the answer to the question: who are the judges? The body proposed in the document, which is supposed to monitor the implementation of the Act, will not actually be able to guarantee any freedoms.
