Here we go again. Shaking my head as well as my fist. The Supreme Court, the supposed independent branch, is entering the political arena. Roe v. Wade is on the burner. A special shout out to my good friend Alisa - she kinda got the ball a rollin’…
FREEDOM TO CHOOSE
We’re on very thin ice - and walking a fine line
We must not go backwards - nor travel back in time
We can’t give up free choice - or right to privacy
Succumb to tyranny - of the minority
So it ain’t up to you - and it ain’t up to me
A woman’s right to choose - must forever be free
When you get down to it - it’s very plain to see
It’s all about control - and rights to privacy
No it ain’t up to me - and it ain’t up to you
Not our place to decide - what others ought to do
If you are so concerned - they come into this world
Then you must see them through - as their life is unfurled
If you cannot provide - basic facilities
Then don’t assume mothers - have these abilities
So it ain’t up to you - and it ain’t up to me
A woman’s right to choose - must forever be free
When you get down to it - it’s very plain to see
It’s all about control - and rights to privacy
No it ain’t up to me - and it ain’t up to you
Not our place to decide - what others ought to do
Will they be clothed and healed - and be properly fed
Will they be well sheltered - and have a warm clean bed
Will they be educated - and kept safe in schools
Will they be subjected - to these same laws and rules
So it ain’t up to you - and it ain’t up to me
A woman’s right to choose - must forever be free
When you get down to it - it’s very plain to see
It’s all about control - and rights to privacy
No it ain’t up to me - and it ain’t up to you
Not our place to decide - what others ought to do
When you get down to it - it’s very plain to see
It’s all about control - and rights to privacy
