There aren't many places in the world that you have the opportunity to witness two world-class drummers jamming.
But NAMM is an exception.
We're at NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants) in Anaheim, California. And while we'll be sharing all sorts of highlights from the event on social media and inside Drumeo Edge, we just had to share this moment with you today:
Benny Greb & Gregg Bissonette connect at the Drumeo booth before performing an epic 5-minute drum duet. Enjoy!
About Benny:
Benny Greb is a prolific drummer, singer, and clinician. In addition to touring and recording with various artists, he debuted as a leader in 2005 with Grebfruit, followed by Brass Band, Two Day Trio, Moving Parts, and Grebfruit 2. He has released two educational DVDs: "The Language of Drumming" and "The Art and Science of Groove".

I love how Gregg basically let Benny just solo the whole time and just kept smiling and grooving in the background for him.

these aren't just two drummers, they are two musicians. amazing. gave each other space and complimented each other fantastically. Whether Gregg or Benny was on the floor tom, it felt just as important and equal to the guy playing kick, snare, hihat.

Everything they did was pure music. No noise, no showing off on who is better. Lesson learnt here for me. They have just displayed that The drumming community is not a competition or race. They both have sweet unique flavours on the kit and great understanding for completing each other on the groves. Well done men 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾.

We have thoughts about what we want to do, but we're not going to rush things out. It feels opportunistic to push just because it is a recent event. This isn't an opportunity for any company to try and leverage someone's tragic death for their gain, that's despicable. If we do something, it needs to be well thought out and done in a way that honours Mr. Peart's legacy. It's more important that it is done right than quick. -JF

As soon as I sell enough paintings (I'm an abstract acrylic painter as well as a drummer!), I am buying a second-hand drum kit and getting lessons from Drumeo. Never have I been so impressed with a channel as much as I have with Drumeo. You folks are so enthusiastic about drumming and learning. I was watching the live feed when y'all were giving away the snare drums and other goodies and I was just staggered by the amount of free lessons on Drumeo and then the crazy inexpensive lessons in the paid instruction. I am really looking forward to buying another kit after all these years and finally learning to play! Maybe...maybe I can even learn to read drum set notation. I'm kind of dumb when it comes to drum notation. Anyway, sorry for this long-ass comment. I just wanted to tell you how much Drumeo means to me, a broken down 52 year old drummer. ;-)

@@JulianFernandez he has played with hhis trío moving parts they have two albums, he has two more albums called grebfruit, (where everything You hear except for the drums is his voice, and is quite amazing). I think maybe that's just how they felt. I remember when I use to jam with my band that there was usually a certain point of the jam where you kind of all come to a conclusion that it's time to end it, non-verbally of course. I can't quite put my finger on it. Maybe it's just a musician's intuition?
@zacklim4684
@zacklim4684 4 жыл бұрын
@@encoreblade3523 Upon listening closer a second time, it appears that they simply played a one bar rhythm and messed with it. Everything else was directed with dynamics, visual cues, energetic cues, and like you said, musician's intuition.
