Freezing Wild Camp on Cross Fell

Joined by my son ‪@belowaveragewildcamper‬, we set off from Garrigill and followed the Pennine Way to Cross Fell for a wild camp.
We pitched our tents just off the summit, me in my Durston XMid 2p and my son in his MLD Duomid.
The clear night sky resulted in a very heavy frost, and freezing winter camp.

Hi Dave - I’m also an “over the hill wild camper!” I just did three frigid nights in the Shawnee National Forest (USA) a few weeks ago. My video of my adventure is posted. I’d love to find a way to camp out together sometime!

Looks like a great place to pitch a tent there Dave 👌⛺️, with some cracking views over that edge. Good view of the sunset too, new bag looks a good one mate, just what you need in this weather. Food looked lovely as usual, spot on mate, atb Mick 👍
