In October and November 1984, eight elderly women were tortured and killed at her home in the 18th arrondissement of Paris.
The motive: to steal their meager savings.
Then from December 1985 to June 1986, eleven other women experienced the same fate. After a lull, the black series resumed in 1987 but a victim then reported it to the police.
Paulin, a homosexual figure of the Parisian nightlife, is arrested and imprisoned but will never be tried. Suffering from AIDS, he died in Fleury Mérogis in 1989.
