@@brianjelly1824 they already knew there would be quota's on fishing in British waters after Brexit and this is the transition period they're up for review in a few years. Having to provide details of having a history of fishing in those waters and being able to be tracked by GPS isn't exactly unfair, balancing out how long they can fish for might need reviewing though. You can't honestly say banning UK fishermen from selling catches from class b waters is not allowed then have Europe go catch in the same locations to freely sell is exactly fair. Would of been more amicable to keep the industries the way they had been but some EU countries wanted the UK to be made an example of now they realise their deal might not work 100% in their favour.

I sailed down the French coast 5 years ago. It is like a dessert. The French have fished it to death. UK waters are also not what they used to be. Off the Cornish coast a mackerel rubber band lure line with 50 hooks would be 90% full in minutes. But nobody wanted Mackerel. Even so off the Devon coast a small inshore fishing boat can achieve a full flat fish catch in half a day. But the price difference between the fisherman selling his catch and what it costs in a restaurant is absurd. So someone must be making a lot more money than they should.

The French fishermen turned off their res-ponders so they could not be detected fishing in British waters but that has backfired on them because the re-sponders are the proof needed for historic fishing in those waters. NO PROOF NO LICENCE, they want it both ways but they f@@ked themselves.

Indeed and as such was never part of the EU, this is just C4 looking for a fill piece as it is easier than actually doing any journalism. Bring back the 'Greenham Common' and 'Newbury protests' good long running stories far enough out of London for fat expenses but close enough to get back for a good dinner party.
