I think it’s fine as long as the food there is vastly improved from the bland food now found at French Market now.

Appreciate the update! Change is the only constant, right? Or so they say (whoever “they” are. 😂 I’m kind of partial to constant, but it will be interesting, and I’m sure it will grow on people. Glad it’s not replacing Cafe Orleans. New Orleans Square is one of Disneyland’s gems.

I am also not opposed to having brands and IP in the park but I love the few areas in Disneyland that are authentically themed and unique to their land and I'll be sad to lose another one of those spots.

Yes! It's refreshing to be somewhere enjoying the vibe, and not have characters shoved in your face.

Yeah it was a nice oasis and something that made Disneyland feel really special. Oh well, I'm sure we'll learn to enjoy this new chapter.

Princess and the frog is one of my favourite movies, however I think Tiana is taking over to much. I have always been fascinated with New Orleans and their history, honestly it all started from going to Disneyland as a child and seeing their version of New Orleans. The reason I love The Rescuers and princess and the frog so much is because the Bayou settings. Besides galaxy edge Disneyland doesn’t have lands based of one specific movie, unlike DCA Cars Land/Pixar Pier/Avengers campus which I all love but Disneyland never felt like that to me, and I really really hope it doesn’t change. I love New Orleans square it’s my favourite land, I just hope it stays true to what it’s always been. Love your videos Bricky, your deep dive on NOS was absolutely amazing, so many little details.

I agree with you. I think they should leave New Orleans square as is and do something with hungry bear instead.

Although the FM has become a bit boring and stale, it wasn’t always that way. I was a busboy there in the summer of 1979. It was lively and electric with nightly live music (usually Bourbon Street Jazz) on its stage. The band banging out soulful tunes, people dancing to the joyful rhythms, the sultry and sweet smells of spicy gumbo and deep-fried beignets, and the faithful whistle of the Mark Twain every few minutes all made for a magical experience. So long Southern Belle. We won’t forget you. Welcome Tiana. I’m sure you’ll make amazing memories for new generations.

kind of does make sense to have Tiana’s palace in New Orleans square (the city) that when you have to walk down to the “Bayou” which technically would not be in the “city” but again they could Re-theme hungry bear to Tianas Bayou diner the critters need to eat too

Overall I am looking forward to this change. I do see that it’s not as close to the ride as it should be but it looks like it might easier to re-theme the French Market versus Hungry Bear or another option closer to the ride.

I like the idea but hopefully they tread lightly on such a wonderful land. Agree it’s weird they announced this so early before other Tiana news we’ve been waiting on

Looks like Tiana is a club 33 member! Hungry Bear is a better location but the work to reskin it would have been expensive. I just hope the food is good. #club1313

I was a little worried at first, thinking Cafe Orleans for a second, but ok with it. It does make sense to be in the French Quarter (riverfront) which would align with the movie. Taking over the Hungry bear world be nice for proximity, but could be the nail in the coffin for Critter country, I feel. NOS is one of my favorite Lands and it so unique, so mixed feelings, but overall I think this breathes a little more excitement into a quiet back corner of that area. I think we’ll look back in a few years and think it was a nice addition.

I too for a minute thought it was Cafe Orleans and that didn't sit right at all. I have ZERO loyalty to the French Market. However, I do really love NOS not being branded, and this feels like the start of something that could get gross if it gets out of hand. But pretty much, I'm in dead agreement with you on everything.

I've thought for a long time that they should retheme French market to Tiana's place or palace. They have the beignets and gumbo, it would take very little of an overhall and we might actually get a jazz band to play more regularly . Perhaps even sightings of Louis like they have on the Disney Wonder's rotational dining room Tiana's Place. As far as club 33 space, since I and many others can never afford let alone get into Club 33 , I could care less about that space.

I’m actually excited about it’s placement as it goes with the theming of that building. And I don’t mind that it’s not right next to “Tianas Bayou Adventure”. If we are speaking of cohesiveness, Hungry Bear is perfectly placed next to Poor Bear, yes?

Hungry bear seems to have no real direct relationship to Poo. I get what you are saying it has a look for NOS. I guess I'm just a purist and always hoped the square would stay as is.

@@brickeytalksdisney I see your point about Hungry Bear Brickey. I too love New Orleans square. In fact, it is my favorite land in all of Disneyland. I could spend my entire day on that side of the park and get lost from the “real” world. Fingers crossed Tiana’s palace is a plus and not a minus. Hoping for some really fun food options!

I think hungry bear would've been a better local but I can see how another food service similar to what already exists in NOS would've been too redundant to be profitable as well. I love the idea of a restaurant for Tiana and think it is a logical next step, but also worry about the unique character of NOS losing its vibe as it's my favorite place in the park.

I am not excited about them taking over the French market. I think the hungry bear would’ve been a much better choice because it’s the bayou, area and then we have New Orleans Square and it would make more sense with a haunted mansion in between

I am not opposed to the idea but NOS always felt like New Orleans where the concept art feels more like the chaos and loudness that is Mardi Gras.

I am extremely biased toward anything Tiana or New Orleans themed 😍. I am excited for the changes and it kinda looks like there might be room up top for the band to play. Then they could take out the stage and add more seating 🤞

The roof top is Club 33 so I think the band stand is staying in the court yard.

I was thinking that the fact that they chose NoS proper instead of the Countdy Bear is a sign that Critter Country still has some life to live.

Horrible name! Sounds like a toy store and looks "cheesy" and good point Hungry Bear makes more sense. New Orleans Square is loosing its charm. Its like going to New Orleans and walking into a tourist t shirt store.

I think Disneyland's NOS is purer than the original in Louisiana. So maybe this makes it more authentic, LOL.
