These over-grown adult toddlers are all suffering from the same mental issue - their pre-frontal cortex has never fully developed. These are the same "adult" people who have frequent hissy-fits and embarrass themselves with public meltdowns that we see (and enjoy laughing at) right here on youtube!

I had to use a wheelchair at Disney World due to a rather unpleasant discovery that I had plantar fasciitis, or something similar. I was practically unable to walk due to the pain and a wheelchair was my only option. (I've seen gotten shoe inserts and no longer have this problem, but it was a sudden discovery and I didn't exactly have the time to go get insert in the midst of a Disney trip so a wheelchair was the only choice I had, as much as I hated to end up in one) In a wheelchair you're practically invisible to many other guests. I got separated from my family multiple times, and I had to put on a Cast Member style voice asking people to step aside for a wheelchair... I felt a little bad about 'emulating' a cast member, but people were SO OBLIVIOUS. And talking about clipping, I was super careful about hitting anyone but it's almost like people WANTED to get clipped. I even had a little girl suddenly jump RIGHT in front of my wheelchair while I was being pushed at a fairly good clip and if I hadn't grabbed the wheels with my bare hands, that little girl would have been hurt, or worse! She gave me a stink-eye look and smugly move back away from the walk path and back to who I assume were her parents that had no idea their child had almost been run over. They clearly weren't monitoring her in any way and were focused on everything BUT her. I remember this because I ended up with a laceration on my palm from stopping the wheels so hard, and that laceration kept bothering me for the rest of the day (fortunately we had brought some cream for skin irritations and it was almost entirely healed by the next day). I can't help but wonder how angry the parents would have been at ME for daring to run their innocent daughter over when they weren't paying her any attention and she was jumping out in front of people! There were other incidents, but as far as I was concerned I was going out of my way to avoid bumping into people because I know what it's like to get clipped and I did NOT want to end up doing that someone else if I could help it...Turns out that a lot of people who get clipped are pretty much contributing to it themselves by ignoring wheelchair users as if they don't exist and not being alert for their need to slip by. It's a lot harder to stop a wheelchair than it is to redirect yourself on foot so you don't bump someone, and you don't have a lot of hard metal on your body to bump people with, so it doesn't hurt if you do. So despite my best efforts I did end up clipping a few people and I apologized profusely each time and made sure they were okay instead of clipping and running or just blaming them entirely for being 'stupid' or whatever. I tried to be a good Disney guest, but it was NOT easy... people need more situational awareness! So much happened that wasn't even my fault, let alone was able to be prevented despite my best efforts!

My take on this shuttering as a non SW person , was the people it was built for all came down on it like Zawi Hawass on a bunch of ancient alien theorist trying to get filming passes for the Giza Plateau . Therefore Disney was like , whhhooooaaaa,! At least 25% of our guest will attack the cast members with light sabres for not knowing what year the Ferranghi Dark Star of DipSitius Reticuli was formed . Clearly if that was going to happen 25% of the time , if at any point a cast member declared He was John Wayne or in fact Luke’s father 9mil galactic blasters would be drawn . Couple that with an entry fee of ten billion Klingon bucks required for entry , ughh , it just wasn’t worth it .
