If the French and Germans really want to be the first to make a sixth generation aircraft, it will cost several hundred billion dollars. What cost the Americans dearly with the third, fourth and fifth generations was being the first to set foot in it and make all the mistakes while the others were able to start on their bases.

@@JPmaxlevel Either you read English badly as much as you write it, or you didn't understand what I meant. The fourth generation planes had already existed for a while when the Rafale came out. I wanted to say that innovating is expensive and that if the French and Germans want to be the first to create a sixth generation aircraft, it will cost them extremely expensive.

@@frednoname3714 I would gently suggest that an aircraft doesn't need to be 'catapulted' to be a "true "navy" multi-role fighter". That idea was put to bed with the Harrier GR3s in 1982 (SHARS being A2A combat fighters).

The French after WW2 said simply that that Invasion Bull Shit will never happen again. They had to use British and American Aircraft for years. Then the Dassault made this no longer a problem in 1952 and beyond.

Im glad France pulled out of creating the Eurofighter as Dassault are far superior at designing aircraft. I repair 2 systems on the Rafale and it is a serious killing machine far better than the Eurofighter and could hold its own against an F22 or F35. French aeronautics are top tier

I admire patriotism and the Rafale is an excellent aircraft no question but what an absurd comment. The Rafale could never hold its own against an F-35 let alone an F-22. Why? because it would dead before the pilot knew they were around. As for 'better than the Typhoon'? Well many will argue THAT one .... What is for sure is that France cannot put up a 5th Gen F-35 suppression fighter with a bomb truck called a Typhoon. Now THAT is a massive combination.

"can't wait for the first French stealth fighter" he is right there in front of you ... Rafale... The "stealth shape" is not the only way to reduce the signature, the rafale not only has a smaller signature because of his shape and his cover, but more important, he has the SPECTRA auto defense system that covers the gap to reduce his signature even more, and the capabilities of the SPECTRA system is totally classified... So I can tell you all these coment saying that he is "just a 4th gen" are 100% wrong ... Now the F4 version of the rafale has multiple type of radars mounted, some of them designed to track any jet with small signature, that mean, any 5th gen fighter. Considering these "stealth jets" put all their eggs in the same basket "stealth" limiting themselves (less maneuverable etc), It's safe to say that the rafale is probably the best jet on the market now, no matter the gens. Note: Dassault also produced the NEURON drone which is a 5th gen with the same size as a Rafale (type it on youtube...)

I get that you're in love and love is blind, but if the Rafale was anywhere near as stealthy as a 5th gen, the Dassault marketing team would never shut up about it. SCAF is on the way, it'll be the French NGAD, don't worry. The Rafale is still the prettiest girl in the skies, don't worry. Just don't go trying to bend facts. The Russians love to bend facts and exaggerate, and look where it got them.

But it's kinda arbitrary decision, as the only thing missing to the Rafale to be a 5th is the square shapes with internal bay.

US sailors are among the best in the world, and certainly they operate the most advanced technology. The fact that they appreciate our Rafale is the best praise it can get. The haters can hate all they like, nobody cares 😊😂 stop comparing the Rafale to the F22 and/or F35: not the same specs, not the same budgets... The Rafale has a solid claim to be the best fighter out there, whenever there is a fight to be fought. But stealth fighters are designed to kill their target before the fight even begins (which is hardly fair but deadly efficient nonetheless...)

The F4 version of the rafale can detect any plane with low signatures using different radar type (infrared radars etc), so this propaganda of "invisibility" is definitely over. But it doesn't matter, France and the US are friends and only the US produces real 5th gen fighters jets (the Russian and Chinese version are not true 5th gen), so we are safe.

And the 'SCAF'? 😏 It doesn't even exist in CGI let alone designed or metal cut because as always France is arguing with its 'partners'. Good luck beating the Germans at that. It will never be built. And then you mention the PANG. Well well well. What happened with the last one to be built alongside the two British carriers reducing unit costs? Oh that's right France ran out of money and left the consortium like it always does. It will do the same with SCAF. The rafale is a "4.5" by US standards but I can tell you the only competitors of this jet are the F22 and F35 and it's not even the case now with the F4 Version of the Rafale since he has many features in commun with the F35 (Data sharing, data fusion, habitlity to detect and track any stealth fighter jets by using different types of radar and computing the datas automatically for the pilot)

As US and France are the only two navies operating catapults (with China soon, if I'm right they'll have it on their next CV), only France navy fighters can operate on US CVs, and US fighters can only operate on France CV. Btw French navy pilot are graduating "navy" at the US school after their pilot and fighter course in France.

Pour avoir été survolé par lui, je peux vous garantir que c'est un avion impressionnant.je me suis aperçu de sa présence qu'une fois qu'il était passé au dessus de ma tête sans que je l'entende. Connaissant aussi son armement et sa batterie de défense électronique de pointe, même si ce n'est pas le meilleur des avions, je n'aimerais pas me trouver en face de lui !

Des alliés qui détruisent les joyaux technologiques français pour leur profit en utilisant des méthodes très très discutables. Des alliés qui oublient souvent que nous étions à leur côté pour virer les anglais et ne se souviennent que de WW2 et notre refus de les suivre en Irak. @@JoJo-vm8vk no we had French sailors come to our ship and we sent a few of ours to their ship. My guys told me the relationship between officers and enlisted is way different and they all live in the same berthing sand eat together. Not the huge gap which the USN has between ranks.

so, what happened was, the aircraft looked like it was taking off from Cat 3 or 4, in which, once launched off the deck would make an immediate left turn, which that entire maneuver is conveniently completely blocked by the bulk of the Rafale.

n exagere pas le f35 et superieur sur de nombreux point c est un bijoux technologique mais comparer au rafale il coute beaucoup trop cher et n a pas une bonne disponibilité en gros il passe le plus claire de sont temps en atelier c est bien dommage quand tu vois le prix du développement du rafale 80 milliards a 1700 milliards pour le f35 ca fait peur c est du delir et il a toujours des problemes latent
