Trilingual. Like most Filipinos. English, Tagalog, and Ilocano, or Bisaya, Bicol etc. But the big difference is that French is a prestige language while Philippine languages are not.

Europeans need to discover Filipino food. It’s so good but so underrated. And there are very few Filipino restaurants around. I hope you let your tasters know that it’s a Philippine snack. Thanks for trying to introduce Filipino food in France.

Serve that turon, lumpiang shanghai(egg roll), pansit, bistek Tagalog(beef steak), pork ribs sinigang, pork & chicken adobo, siopao & siomai, not to forget halo-halo. Fil-French will surely patronize your food, especially if you cook it near perfection. Bon appetit!

Come to my grandma's house! She makes plenty of turon and lumpia for my friends 😂 Anyway, come to think of it, I've never seen turon on the menu at any Filipino restaurants I've been too. I've never seen it in Queens either. I don't even remember if Jeepney or maharlika had turon on the menu 🤔

I love watching the reactions of the tasters, they love it. Indeed you are with a Filipino blood and we are proud of you doing some innovations to introduce Filipino Food. Turon is one of my favorite street food back then when I was in Philippines and have been missing this too much. Although we can do it here as well but Banana (Saba) is very expensive so trying to be contented first watching your videos about Filipino Food.

It elevates the flavor profile. But you have to get the proper ratio and proper consistency of jackfruit. If the jackfruit isn't ripe enough it becomes too stringy. Sometimes they caramelize the jackfruit before adding it.

The one you ate is lumpiang gulay, it's often eaten with a vinegary dip. Very different from turon, both popular snacks.

The variety or cultivar of bananas used for turon is called "saba" "saba" is a cultivar of bananas that was developed in the Philippines. It is thicker, starchier and used for cooking.
