Just encouraged my husband to paint the inside of our (came with the house) burgandy door white. I made him watch vids, listen to everyone talking about the scary first couple of coats. He wasn't convinced, even after 4 coats. We were all ready to rub it back and buy a totally different paint, but decided to give it a 5th coat......and there it was, our new white door! Looks so much better😊 My ol' man's not a fan of water-based paints(were old codgers!), and he's still not entirely convinced by Frenchic. But we took advice off here from professional painters who suggested an alternative Brand for the outside. Having read all about it and watched their website vids, I'm not sure it's any different from Frenchic. So as I've already got the Frenchic Black paint here for the outside of our front door, I've convinced him to giv it a go. Think black over the burgandy will be much easier to deal with. He does a good paint job, so Im really confident it'll go well and really tie-in the front door with our new(ish) black garage doors. 🤞 Hope you're still enjoying your patio doors and was confident enough to paint your front door black!

Aww amazing glad it went well. We haven’t done the outside black as someone nearby did and their house just stands out so much and not in a good way as it’s not in keeping with the neighbourhood so we’ve left it with the brown. The white has lasted so well on the inside though as this was a few years ago now and it’s not got any scratches or any damage 🥰

The #Frenchic brushes are well worth buying and it really makes a difference when you use them. Light on dark definately needs more coats, but its worth it! ❤

Hi Nicole, you did a great job well done, it looks fab. I am plucking up the courage to do my french doors they are golden oak and I really dont like it. I am hoping if all goes well I can tackle the windows next. How is the Frenchic paint holding up? I read some fab reviews but then trust pilot has some really bad ones? I just wanted to get some feedback from someone who has used it before I buy a particular brand, thanks for your time, love the vid ! you really transformed those doors x

Hi thank you for your message. The paint is great. At first I was like one what a mistake but it took a few coats and it looks good. I’ve not actually been using the door lately so not sure how well it will hold up but it certainly looks better. Good luck with it and try the frenchic forums on facebooks x

@@nicolemcshane4920 Thanks for your reply I will have a go. I'm stuck with the golden oak on the exterior it's an old quaint village and can't change the colour due to being a conservation area etc but inside I can :) x

thank you for the video. I too have brown patio doors and have been thinking of painting them white with Frenchic for a while. Just a question for you. What happens when you open the doors? does it rub off and take a bit of paint off? thank you.

No it’s been around 2 years now and it’s still the same at the first day it was finished being painted. At first I was like omg what have I done as it needs a fair few coats but now you can’t even tell it’s painted 🥰

Same situation I want to paint my white patio doors black…how long did you leave it till you opened them? Does it bother you that you can still see brown area in centre when you open them?

@@Michelle-mf9sz you can’t see the brown when you open them as the runners are all a different colour with the metal bits. I just left it around a week before opening to make sure it was all fully dried

do you know realise you don't need cover the glass. it's water based, if you did get it on glass it simply wipes off. If you go for swanky pants a very light clean grey in future the coverage is much better, two coats easy. plus you were adding too much paint on your 2nd coat . thin and more will give a better durability. xx

I was following guidelines from the website which says to cover the glass I’d rather not risk it. Also I wouldn’t want to paint the window frame grey. I was aware white would take many coats and as I’m not a professional and this was my first time using this paint there were obviously learning curves. But thank you for your criticism.
