Man this song is so catchy. When I first played the game, the soundtrack blew me away.

Metal Gear 2 is so darn good. Really deserves being played in a Metal Gear Solid marathon.

1:08 recreating this part in FL studio and cranking up the small 32nd notes to be laudable is just eargasmic: C4 F4 A#4 F4 G4 C5 A#4 D#5 bass is C3 1/8 notes all along with F2 G2 A#2 finish at every section, absolutely love this i just cant get enough of how amazing this sounds, konami kukeiha club was just a spectacular team of people with mind-boggling talent. This is one of the most memorable OSTs i've heard in my life, along with games like unreal tournament this is what holds the essence of masterful music-making of the end of XXth century.

Metal Gear 2, and it's soundtrack, was such an amazing thing. The game, it's story (especially for the time when games weren't known to have great stories), and what you actually see on screen all came together so well.

Import MG2 soundtrack in GZ. Play this immediately when you're in control. Just beware the enemies who can see beyond the 9 squares.

Ahh, 140.85. The one frequency that has been in nearly every MG game. When you think of a communications frequency in tactical espionage games, you think of the good old 140.85. It would be too much of a beauty if both games came in as a bonus with the upcoming HD collection, but if that happens it's like Metal Gear just had great sex with technology and the offsrpings become totally awesome.

This should have played in MGS 4 when Colonel Campbell picked up Solid Snake in the chopper.

I was late in playing the Metal Gear series, but I am SO glad that I played the series in order starting with the ports included in MGS3 Subsistence. I saw the game's progression, and still see MG2 as my favorite in the series because it was ahead of its time.

A lot of music from Metal Gear 1 and Metal Gear 2 was remixed for MGS: VR Missions, mate, including this and Theme Of Tara. Check my other vids and see if you recognise any more.

This theme got me into the game.

MG1 is great if you consider everything that it's brought to the genre. MG2 is an amelioration on the MG1 formula. I love both these games equally, but yeah, if we don't take into account the innovations, MG2 is the better game.

This game so good,it can be easily played today.Gameplay,music,story,chatacters, graphics still so good.

You got that right! MG1 didn't have a lot of story, but it set the standard for the gameplay. When MG2 game out, holy shit, did it have a good story! That's been a tradition that, thank goodness, has stuck with the series ever since.

They don't make music like MG2's these days. Played this first time on the HD pack and this was the thing that kept me from quitting into MGS3

Best theme in this game in my view! And that says something - all the music in this game sets the bar ridiculously high!

@chaosgreyblood MG1 and MG2 are definitely included as part of the HD collection. I don't think they'll be given any kind of upgrade like MGS2,MGS3 and Peace Walker, though.

Always reminds me of main theme from Robocop 3 on NES. Probably because the melody is almost identical.

00:34 progression sounds very similar to Goblin's "Roller", just a bit slowed down. Not sure if this was an influence but Kojima's being a cinema nerd and the soundtrack habing a few nod to classic movie themes, Goblin being a reference doesn't sound weird to me.

@HyperShan3 Yeah, MG2 was WAY more playable than MG1... and much more interesting. MG1 is cool for the memory, but its basicness has turned many away from the series... Quite a shame really :|. Their loss.
