Welcome to our 127th Friday Feature Artist interview… with Stephanie Outridge Field!
Stephanie is a ceramic and multimedia artist with a rich tapestry of experiences ranging from teaching and curating to project management to the creation of large-scale sculptural statements for installation in major commercial and public precincts.
She embodies the spirit of a true artist-a visionary who moulds the earth itself into expressions of life and community through workshops, community based projects and an all inclusive gallery that focus on the experience over the transaction.
This week, Stephanie opens up about her artistic philosophy, the impact of working within constraints, and the profound legacy left by artists through their work. Her insights offer a glimpse into the creation of art that resonates deeply with both creators and admirers alike. 🎨👁
If you’re interested in the intricacies of working on large-scale public art installations, you won’t be disappointed. Stephanie emphasizes the importance of managing expectations, collaborating effectively, and facilitating the creative process.
We would like to thank Stephanie Outridge Field for sharing their time, artwork and knowledge with us.

So encouraging to watch this! I have been running a gallery/work space for over 20 years, initially in our own renovated commercial building then in a rented space, both specialising in textile art. The next step is a private gallery where we live, having already set up my work space here. Future plans include private mini retreats and a building for artist residencies and more gallery space on our property, which is on 21 acres. Step by step! Owning definitely beats renting in today’s economy especially. Thank you Stephanie and Ange for a great interview 😊
