Mr. Nick My pop who is 90 years of life, has a 87 Dodge Dakota. At age 75 he fell off a ladder and hurt his hip. That along with his diabetes kept him driving his truck. Time has done a number on both. BUT MY POP is one of the strongest and toughest men that I know, HE IS MY HERO. He's in Maryland and I live in Texas. Want to get his truck back functional, what would you recommend i start with first? Thank you

Why not get a doner Challenger, and build the ultimate retro-mod with the 528 Hemi? Put all the best stuff from the different years on it, '71 Cuda grill; shaker hood, B5 paint, recessed door handles, reflectors, spoilers etc. All the best stuff from the different years. Then add modern suspension, brakes, directional 19-20" rims (Not chrome) modern electronics, something like a SuperMatic 10L90-E 10-speed automatic transmission, and air condo? Then take it to SEMA, and sell it.

My recommendation: Don't ever sell it and make the same mistake I made of selling my '69 B5 blue/black vinyl top Charger R/T factory 4-SPEED and 3.54 Dana 60 from Mr. Norms Dodge in MI. Solid #2 condition car with the .509/292 cam which was a blast to drive with a very strong 440. It's been over 25 years but I still miss it and was the biggest mistake I ever made. Those were the days which sadly are gone..
