I too am about to turn 30 (in March) and it’s an exciting time! I just read Recitatif in January and it was great!

When I started watching this video I was like "dang, I love that jacket" so I love that was part of the reason why you made this video 😄

I really love your jacket!! I’ve read Natalie Díaz’s previous poetry collection When My Brother Was An Aztec and really want to get to Postcolonial Love Poem. I’d like to revisit Aztec because I’ve really only had a breakthrough with poetry in the last year or so and could probably get more out of now.

Yeah it seems like maybe poetry appreciation is one of those things that takes time to develop. First you need the spark enough to be interested, but then you just need to keep reading it until something breaks through. I'm excited about that journey!

I loved The Strays 🥰 Great Australian fiction. I’ve just finished Exiles by Jane Harper It was just ok. Not as good as The Dry or The Lost Man. I’m still listening to two big books Deluge by Stephen Markley A Fine Balance Interspersed with shorter books . On my TBR for February I’m almost finished The Secret Life of Albert Entwhistle About to start The Sleeping Car Porter ☘️👋🍀📚📖☕️📕

I am so intimidated by Deluge because it is so long! I got the audiobook without knowing how long it was. How is it??

oh wow i love so many of those poetry collections. i love tracy k smith (wade in the water especially). time as a mother is also really lovely, there's a prom queen poem that i adored. tommy pico's IRL is better than nature poem, but still a good collection.
