Fridays With Farwell -- Starting games earlier makes more sense

4 ай бұрынThe Guelph Storm will start their Friday night home games next season at 7:00 p.m. The Storm had been the last holdout from the old days of 7:30 starts in the OHL. It's about time we progressed from the dark ages of later start times, and there are plenty of reasons to support an earlier puck drop.

Saginaw started all games except Sunday at 7:30 pm their first few seasons after the move from North Bay. They switched to 7:00 pm based on fan input. A few years it was 7:11 pm because local 7:11 stores were a sponsor. Once that sponsorship went away the time went to its current 7:05 pm.

The 6:05 Sunday evening starts in Oshawa were a bit annoying when I lived there. I used to love Grey Cup / Super Bowl Sundays which is the only time they start earlier.
