I bought your book from Amazon. So far, it was worth the purchase. All my mini fridge needed was a new relay to get the compressor working again. 😁

Got a hotpoint fridge and not cooling at all. The compressor is very hot, tested it with a multi meter getting different reading like you. If it's not the compressor or relay what else could be holding off the cooling?

it could be a lot of things , not enough gas in system , door seals , compressor might test good electrically but is it pumping ok seals might be gone , thermostat.

Yeah i removed off camera as its a pain to get off most of the time.

My compressor is extremely hot to the touch-and fridge not cooling/freezer not working. Should I replace it or get. new fridge freezer ? Hotpoint FSFL 1810

you would need to regas as well

Hi there, great video, My compressor tests fine with the multi meter but when connected to power it goes to earth tripping the breakers. There is no continuity between the compressor terminals and the compressor housing. I've also swapped out the start relay and capacitor but it doesn't help. If i disconnect the earth lead the compressor runs just fine (although deadly). Have you ever come across this? I've ordered a new compressor.

Id say its insulation break down of winding in compressor you can test with megger , not done a video of that yet I have on generators. Yeah deadly without earth protection if its tripping circuit breaker your getting a lot of current flowing.
