I was kinda expecting a cutaway of a scene in the kitchen with Wes waving a sword, Phil crying over potatoes, steam everywhere, pots on fire, salt all over the floor and the fire alarm going off as everybody else runs through with food in their hands 😂😂

I don't like peeling potatoes either lol I find it faster to cut around the potato in the center, boil in hot water for 15mins then run in cold water. usually easily peels off for me. just pull at where the cuts were. potato skin free! :)

the amount of salt for a volume of water you'd need to change its boiling point is quite large. Thus the quantity you usually add to the water has almost no effect on the water's boiling point.

It is best to wash everything prior to cutting them up or really doing anything with them. Even if it may seem tedious or unnecessary, it needs to be done that way for sanitary purposes.

+Byjs95 No. It decreases it so it boils faster. It's called a catalyst. If it increases the boiling point, it would increase the amount of time to reach an increased temperature. Salt quickens the boiling time so it lowers the temperature it needs to reach.

+Byjs95 You're right. it does increase the boiling point of the water due to the ionic interaction between the water molecule, and Na and Cl ions. Salt decreases the freezing temperature which makes it harder to freeze (i.e. the ocean). In addition, salt is not a fucking catalyst in this case. Whoever said that clearly needs a refreshment in high school chemistry.
