28:00 I love how she uses ippikki here to count one instead of hitori. Ippikki is how you count animals (typically dogs or smaller I think but in any case) in a fantasy context it is also used as a derogatory way of counting cannon fodder type humanoids (goblins and the like). That demon was insignificant to Frieren....just another mob in a side quest.

The old guy not recognising Frieren: See, she's the only elf he's ever met, so he probably didn't want to say "you must be the elf mage from the Hero's party, you look exactly alike!" only to be cancelled for racism.

Frieren The Slayer is also a name drop for the series, and also a play on words. "Sousou no Frieren" can be read as both "Frieren at the Funeral", fitting for the story of a girl who has lost two friends recently, and "Frieren, the Undertaker/Slayer", the title Frieren has received from the demons for her power and history of defeating demons.

Im not sure if you are aware of this, but there is a thing called "pause botton" you can make the show stop with that, exprese your opinions, and then keep waching when you are done. Its a better method than just talking over the characters and missing half of the plot

(see times i paused to chat - though im sure you didn’t watch all the way through) i’m not sure if you’re aware but it’s a reaction bc i am reacting to it while watching it. pretty sure i don’t “miss half the plot” but i appreciate you trying to throw that in there.

dont let those angry toxic people, who pretent they knew right from the moment anything is mentioned get to you... i have watched frieren twice + 2 reactions... and im still picking up small little connections and meaning behind things... so yeah, i dont get why people watching reactions get mad at the fact people dont get everything and make it even worse by thrashing those

@@PixxiesPlanet rewatch value is truely insane high, because sometimes there is a connection between ep4 and like ep24 or so which, unless good memory, can be easily overlooked but on a second watch it clicks so hard :D

I've spent some time trying to come up with a good and tasteful joke about the Frieren community being nicer because of Himmel, but I couldn't manage one that didn't feel arrogant or such. I'm positive such a joke exists tho, so please mentally replace this comment with one of your own creation and have a good laugh 😊

Mine's not a joke but still a good story - There was a chad in Taiwan who stopped a crazy guy from stabbing more people (he'd already gotten 1 or 2 if I remember right). When asked what drove him to do something so dangerous he told the cops "It's what Himmel the Hero would have done".
