Great video super helpful no issues as of 2024. I had to enable flying otherwise the server would kick people randomly but that's it!

i'd like to set up a server with survival dimension/world and another one with pokemon regions, like kanto and jhoto. I've tryed with multiverse mod and velocity proxy, nothing has worked, I don't know if it's my bad or if those tools are not the right choice. I've played in a server that offerse survival and pokemon regions gameplay, with same invenctory and pokemons. How does that work? Can you do a tutorial about it? Any tips? thank you

Multiverse should allow this. You will likely need worldguard as well to set specific rules for worlds to prevent pokemon spawns in areas. Alternatively they could have multiple servers all connected through their hub, a much more complicated setup but is common for large servers since having all players on 1 server is not viable. (For example hypixel, channel select is technically different servers and the different minigames could be individual servers as well.)

super weird- I followed the video exactly but when I booted up my localhost I had everything from Pixelmon besides the Pokemon :/. I see the little UI at the bottom for the Pokedex and quests, have the Pixlemon slot in the escape menu, but I dont have any Pokemon, or the option to pick my starter when I joined in. Any ideas? Thanks!

i'm not sure if it makes a difference but when i open the forge installer it takes me to express zip and i have no idea what to do at that point.

That’s an unrelated program you downloaded in the past for zip files. It’s a java file so it shouldn’t show as a zip unless you also installed it to cloud storage, like OneDrive, so the server will not work. It must be on a physical hard drive such as an hdd or ssd and you’ll need to have java 8 64bit installed.

I literally just copy and pasted the mods from my mod file to the server mod file and it still says incompatible fml mod list. I also have some mods in my folder (Optifine) that I did not include in the server folder. Do client side only mods have to be removed from my own mod folder to let the server run properly? Was able to open the server but Pixelmon was not there.

Yo, I believe it could just be a compatibility issue. You’d need a version of journeymap that is compatible with 1.16.5 minecraft

Ik it’s been 3 months. Here the thing. I wanna add a way so my friends can teleport without cooldown. Without having them to give them op. Good friends but don’t want them to go into gamemode and get everything That’ll ruin the fun. So is there a way for me to give them perm for that and not give them full access to everything??

deca crafter when we wrote the code in notepad for the server who put in pause so that if the server ecperiances error it would pause instead of crashing but now my server just says that the server is paused how do i unpause the server and continue playing on it

As long as it’s for minecraft 1.16.5 you can just throw it into the mods folder. You will need to add it to your client too and so will anyone who wants to join the server.

Everything works for me except when I get to logging into the server, It says joining world for a second and shows that I've joined on the server console but then it immediately switches to "Saving World" and my game crashes, It even does it without the pixelmon mod in the server. I think it may have to do with my RAM but I have 32GB of useable RAM but it never goes about 19GB used. Can anyone help? Thank you.

I am having trouble. When I put in the ‘C:\Program Files\Java\ jre-1.8\bin’ -Xms1G -Xmx5G -jar server.jar nogu1 and I run the program, it says the filename, directory name or volume label syntax is incorrect. How do I fix this?

Must keep the quotes “ “ around it and add \java.exe to the end of the quoted part after \bin. Also make sure to go to the path and ensure you have java installed.

Probably no more than 8gb but if multiple people are flying around then no matter how much ram you have loading the chunks will cause lag. Only way to prevent that lag is to pregen the world using a mod such as chunky. But then you’d need to set a world size limit.

The mods on the server and on your client are not the same version/update so one is outdated and needs to be updated, I’m assuming client side through curseforge.

The server properties file doesn't come up. it just goes straight through and creates the server and wont let me edit the the server rules.

There will be a file called server and it’s a properties type file. If the black window is closing then the server is not created as it’s only up while the command prompt is running. And if the server is running then you 100% have the file.

When I run the run bat file, it goes straight into creating the server without creating the editable server file.(mabey it does but there no way I can stop it or pause to give time for to edit it) There is file that shows up after its finished creating that shows all the server rules like enable flying, but I can't edit them.

It creates that file during the server creation process. No need to stop it, simply close the server after it loads the very first time, then edit the file and start the server up again. You can use notepad++ to edit the file.

i have a different error pop up when running the run.bat. It says "the Invalid maximum heap size: -Xmx5G The specified size exceeds the maximum representable size. Error: Could not create the Java Virtual Machine. Error: A fatal exception has occurred. Program will exit." i tried changing it to 4 but it did the same thing, and when i put in the java file nothing happened. pls help

i got that error too and it is because the java we installed had both the 32 bit and 64 bit version i fixed it by searching up 64 bit java 8 and downloaded the offline 64 bit version. after that i got the eula good luck with your server dude!

Yeah just leave the server console open. A server needs a compute running it so if you close the console it closes the server. When you pay for a server you are paying for someone to run it on their system 24/7

That means you put your server on cloud storage. Servers do not work on cloud storage. You need to put it on your hard drive. Your desktop is probably linked with Onedrive which is cloud storage.

Yo I think you DM’d me on discord but if not you want to go into your server folder, edit the file named “server” and it’s a properties type file. You will need to change “enable-flight” to true.

Sounds like a ram issue, could be running out/ not enough allocated. To op urself you just type op and then ur name, example: op decacrafter

Must be typed through server console, no / because it’s in the console. (The black window). Can’t op urself in-game otherwise anyone who joins could do that. Once opped through console you can op others in-game or use any commands you want.
