I have been using Chebe powder for 5 months. My method is mixing the powder with a couple of my favorite leave in Condtioners, kanker oil and olive oil or just your favorite oils. I just followed the instructions on the Chebe bag from Roselle products. When applying the chebe mix on my hair, my hair is damp so the mix can absorb into my hair strands. Also I prefer twists over braids, less single strand knots. I consistently reapply the Chebe mix every 4 or 5 days. The entire process can be time consuming and messy. I mix everything up in a small bowl, put an old towel or t-shirt around my shoulder before applying. I clarify, shampoo and deep condition every 3 weeks and and apply a new mixture of Chebe. Never apply the Chebe powder mixture to your scalp. I start at tbe ends work my way up to about 1/2 to an 1inch from the scalp. I go about my day with my hair with my twists in a bun or a pineapple. Currently my hair is almost mid back lenght. The smell is a whole another matter. I have learned that depending on what leave Condtioners and oils I use can affect tbe smell of tbe Chebe powder. I also cut back the amount of powder, when reapplying the mix every 4 tp 5 days. The Chebe will stretch your, especially when applied on damp hair. After clarifying and washing your hair, your curl pattern will return as usual. I will be washing, blow drying and trimming in a couple weeks. I have definitely seen growt., Patience has been my friend throughout this journey, from what I have seem it is paying off Hope some of this helps Good Luck!

Do you comb your hair out each time?
@sherryphillips9713
@sherryphillips9713 3 ай бұрын
No I do not comb my hair out each time, the chebe mix soft and can be reapplied without combing. Just start at your ends with chebe mix and work upwards. Too much combing would defeat purpose of retaining length.

Thanks for the update on your RevAir technique 🎉! Your technique will work well for my hair texture (especially the grey/silver!) should I choose purchase a RevAir. However, I think a RevAir may only be needed if I decide to grow hair past my collarbone. There’s a diffuser with similar temperature/cool settings and very wide bowl (Diffon Supreme Ionic XL), I may try that first. I think the diffuser will quicken the dry time for my twists - especially the roots, as I transition to longer hair. Extended/lengthy air drying time will be one of the first reasons that will cause me to undergo a “big chop” back to a pixie 😂.

Hello Yllona! The Rev-air is pricey, but now that I have figured out what works for me I think it was a great purchase. I say try the diffuser first! We must take inspiration from our fellow naturals but do what works for us! 😊

A suggestion, you can probably use a hair weight so your hair doesn’t clump and it dries faster. I don’t currently have a rev air but I do use tarajis hair weights and they have been fantastic with me stretching my hair with gel.

I think Chebe is good for moisture retention, following on your journey. I make a diy chebe butter with slippery elm and and i love it. Yes revair on cool setting takes longer but you get very good stretch..They caution us not to use products with the revair, i used some leave in and it jacked up the base, the revair started blowing the hair instead if sucking it,😂😂😂..that was definitely scary 😂😂they had to replace it for me, after that incident i am very careful on what i use on my hair before reving. Also high heat with oil based products can crack the wand, it has happened to me. Lemme say i have learnt my lessons with the revair.
@KlassicallyKept
@KlassicallyKept 4 ай бұрын
Hello Klaudia ! I definitely learned my lesson as well. The first time I used the Rev-air ( highly heat ) I saturated my hair with heath protectant and my hair was so stiff and dry ! Now I use the cool setting and turn on a favorite show and go for it ! On the cool setting it does take longer but that does not bother me.

Hey girl hey! No seriously braids make me look bald but the next 3 months I will be doing braids and putting my hair up in a scarf 😂. This is the exact thing I do but I do not add a leave in . I’m going to start doing that. What are your thoughts on the leave in you use ? I only got the 4oz bottle because I just didn’t know how my hair was going to react or do and the lord knows I don’t have money to waste buuut I love it so I have to buy the 8oz. I didn’t know about the comb or brush part so I will definitely incorporate that next wash day. I also you the butter and I love it . I got the powder but was to scared to do it so when you start I will start 😂 Also do you still oil your scalp ?

I am on the hunt for another or I may just start making my own again.
