In my experience the older the book the easier the grading scale. I have Golden Age books in the 9's that wouldn't come close if they were moderns.

I know it's a lot of extra work but I love it when you put what you paid + FMV. I'm pretty new to comic books and it's fun learning values of keys during these videos.

Thanks for the feedback. Just keep in mind I have a backlog of videos and prices are still dropping at the moment, so prices may be lower than what's in the video.

A little pesonal history with direct Wol 1 limited and a fk up on clean up of a newstand. I bought 200 copies in 1982 for discounted .50 each. then sold the last 50 for $7 ea in the early 90s! I bought a newsstand 1 for $140. It had one tiny color break on the spine but was overall 60% to get 9.8. Then I had a huge brain fart. I went dumb. On the back left side on the white border was a black tiny dot. I didnt feel a bump but wondered if it was an embedded dirt particle. I took an exacto knife, yes i did, to try and flick the dot out. I put a noticeable small hole in the book! It came back 9.4 and sold for $230. I never used an exacto knife before or since. Lost prob $300 as it was at least 9.6. One of the reasons I dont do anyone elses books.

Sorry that happened to you, but your story makes me feel not so bad about some of my own, shall we say, "learning experiences" in my journey to become a half way decent comic book cleaner! I suppose we all have to learn from our mistakes!

@@nerdyoldwoman9651 Oh, so true. The wreckage to do this craft right has been fun. I estimate that I've lost over $10,000, closer to $15,000. in value by just being stupid. I believe that the square-bounds of that era are unpredictable (usually toward the positive). I think with staples, glue and cover wrap you have a lot of funky looking happening. I feel it's a real challenge to find a good cover wrap on most squarebounds from that time.

Bro i got a question. I just submitted amazing Spider-Man 238 and it came back a 4.0 and it says the tattoos were removed but before sending it in I checked multiple times and that book had those tattoos in it. What do you recommend I do? Crack it open and resubmit?
@ImproveCollectingComics

You might call them and tell them this. They may let you resubmit as a mechanical error?
