Before he came in, everyone was agreed that it was a 3 or 4 year project to get us back to even competing for the league again. As usual everyone forgets that 18 months in and starts listening to the media. Just get behind the man ffs, I'm old enough to remember the football that was played under Ferguson between 87 and 90 and it wasn't pretty at all. Neither were the results. We can't keep going in circles and however it was that they came to the decision, it was the right one which is a positive for the future.

I am absolutely delighted this honest dignified man has successfully fended off the British press and the egos of multiple new senior management. appointments looking to make their mark . They will still sack him if we don't have a strong season next year but as fans we don't have to suffer a new manager telling us to be patient for 2 or 3 years to sort things out.

The power Eric has is the power handed to him by the players that stuck to the game plan on FA cup final day, there is no way on earth Ineos would be able to sack him, us fans would have went absolute Bickies had they sacked him. What they need to do now is to back the guy, he has at least a year to run on the contract, I would say he’s getting at least two more before summer is out !! ✊🇾🇪

Excellent discussion lads. Ineos on one hand checking to see who could come in if things get worse ( respect for planning for the future) but definitely went about it in the wrong way. ETH earns a huge salary in the toughest football job in the world and has been under unbelievable pressure so understandable if he speaks out in defence of himself. However, now it's time to move on for the best of the club and ineos and ETH need to shut up. Tony absolutely 100% correct, unless the deadwood is shifted before preseason starts ETH and United will have problems. COYR.

I am glad that ETH is staying, it shows the strength of the man and that he knows his worth. This is the manager that we need as the UTD job can swallow up most managers and players, but this man knows exactly what needs doing to get this club back to where should be, this man looks at every little detail and his expectations are to win and he implements everything to make that happen. Next step is to get us playing football like his team's have in the past. Players need to get on board and knuckle down and get the deadwood out.... WIN LOSE Or DRAW ALWAYS UTD 💪💪 COME ON UTD 💪💪💯💯

It scares me that Ineos thought, not only to sack Ten Hag, but if they considered Tuchel, Southgate or any other failure, what kind of rationale are they going to use for signings. For the moment, it looks like they just strip the club of excess, replace some, but don’t have a clear objective. I suppose the transfer window will reveal more and that hasn’t started well.

Quality negotiation tactics by our board as usual fellas, they've just handed Eric all the power in negotiations, the circus continues in the board room even with Jim and all his mates on board. Rumours are De Zerbi refused an offer as well as Tuchel.

He is under pressure and not the Board. The Board will sack him if football played next season is not good. The fact that according to him, the Board talked to Tuchel means the Board was willing to pay him the compensation. Strangely, the announcement of him staying was from him and the reporter and not from the club.

I’m 100% Ten Hag in and had a few wobbles but in retrospect he’s the guy for me, also Ineos were well within their rights to do a review going forward and I actually don’t hold that against them. They needed to with the state of goings on recently, but most of it is mitigated clearly, I hope they draw a line in the sand and come together and smash it.

Hi Chaps. Missed your podcast today due to physio. I have just finished listening to your superb & "lively" podcast. I agree with you Webby, and I also said it , a few times that Ineos' business acumen was shocking & the Glazer's were definitely part of this debarcle. Tuchel is trouble & I doubt that Ineos approached Tuchel. It's the other way round. Tuchel hâ not lasted anywhere. Ten Hag needs to get his contract done asp never mind the excuses. I think everyone needs to take a back seat and not concern themselves with any of his personal business, whether with Ineos or someone else. Ten Hag needs to be trusted and he needs to trust all working with him from Ineos. Ten Hag will not be a "yes mam" to anyone. His job needs to be clarified before he starts officially. Well, it took pride & guts for Ineos to fly over & tell ETH they wanted him at MU. No new contract don't budge. Question: Is DecGea coming back to MU? Everyone keeps harping on MU finishing 8th, is not his fault. People need to catch a wake-up. I

Hopefully no new contract for Ten Hag before we are at least 8 weeks in to the new season. Ten Hag did his best work at United when he was under threat of being fired.

As long as Ineos back Ten hag with transfers both ins and outs then the minimum goal for this season should be to finish in the top 3 in the premier league.

I get the view that INEOS are doing their due diligence by building a upper management team and want to do their own screening regarding the head coach should be. If they did not, they’d be criticized as being negligent. However them running to Ibiza, grovelling just stinks of desperation and guilt.

They did say at nice they Diddnt always get it right and it will take time for them to sort out. They need to explore all the options I think it's the way they went around it-ten hag always said he is working with them planning next season. Now it's crunch time transfer window - now is where we need to see change ruthless in backing ten hag in transfer market. Don't want to see sigings made August 31st. Need to see change pulling away from deals if they too much no more glactico players. They need to do it and if they don't that's when we question is it innoes glazers

Lads great podcast. Do u think contract talks from INEOS could be like a slow bicycle race - and they’ll see how the season starts and have Southgate lined up. Feels like they want him and want to wait for him. A contract extension actually being signed will tell a lot. ✌️

Even if he gets a contract extension they’ll want it to have clauses which will make sacking him cheaper. You can’t finish 8th and expect a 3+ year deal with no catches. They went with ten hag due to fan pressure. If it starts awful and more fans turn he will be gone…in my uneducated opinion 😂

I'd think that ten Hag is a smarter man than that. He also needs to do his own research first into how Ineos will operate. This is a man who previously worked very well with the Ajax structure with Overmars and Edwin.

Good convo but not sure why all of sudden we are disappointed with Erik talking about the meeting. United leadership errored in making interviews behind his back. All cards on the table then for Erik to tell his side especially if it buys good will of players and fans.

What choice did ETH have but to take control of transfers? Who else at the club was doing that job? Where was the structure in place to pick 5 players and offer them as options for the manager? Another example of the eneptitude of Manchester united what a disgrace. This review should of been completed before the FA Cup with a list of what Eric Ten hag 1st choice 26 squad. The only loose end should of been whether he won the Fa cup or not so they should then get on with transfer market for players. If he hadn't won then they had someone to bring in signed. Carrington and wembley of the North should of been signed off and give us the time scale what an utter mess with or without Eneos.

Think you’ve misread it if believe ETH is more powerful now (emboldened is a better word or belligerent). He’s got no power beyond his current contract terms re vetos. Ineos wont care too much if he doesn’t sign a new longer term contract. They’ll just get their man next summer (probably lined up before if ETH carries on setting up his team like most of last season and his poor in game mgt). And even if he signs a new contract it will have break clauses so it’s meaningless re security. Everyone knows they’re not sold on ETH including the players who could push him if they really wanted to. It also looks weak from ETH to be treated so disrespectfully in public and still take it and turn back up to work for them again. It looks desperate. I do agree Ineos were binning him, then on top of the PR nightmare of talking to people pre cup final, him winning it and being so popular with most of you, meant it would be another PR issue for Ineos to get rid (especially with the low grade alternatives), and they care about PR. Utter shit show from Ineos tbh.

United finished 8th! INEOS are quite with their rights to take a couple of weeks to make a decision. If you think that's too long it's because you live in a 'Want it Now' society. Most importantly INEOS made the right decision not whether its 1 day or 14 days.
