Planning a trip to Japan? One of the best decisions we made was adding one stop before heading back to Tokyo from Kyoto. Kanazawa, the capital of the Ishikawa prefecture, is a historical city with convenient access to Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto.
Kanazawa was our seventh stop on this trip through Japan. For those just tuning into this series, we started our trip in Nagasaki, then went to Fukuoka, Osaka, Kobe, Nara, and Kyoto. You can check out those other videos on my channel, and I’ll leave a link to the series playlist below!
In today’s episode, I’ll share my 2-day Kanazawa travel itinerary filled with Japan travel tips, things to do, places to eat, and more! I hope you enjoy it! #japantravel #japanvlog

Would a daytrip from Kyoto be a bit rushed? or Is a night there needed
@remishimazu
@remishimazu 8 ай бұрын
It's a bit too far for a day trip from Kyoto. You'll spend more time traveling and will feel rushed once you get there. I've heard of people making the day trip from Tokyo though! I hope this helps.

Why don't you revisit Kanazawa. Many tourist spots are currently less crowded due to rumors of earthquake damage. (almost no damage actually) You should try Kanazawa's own best miso ramen instead of Sapporo's, available at Taiga, which is just 200 meters from Kanazawa Station.

@remishimazu
@remishimazu Жыл бұрын
typically you have to reserve if you have oversized luggage but if you have just a backpack you should be find with regular seating. I had a carry-on bag & a backpack for this leg of the trip (we shipped our oversized ahead to Tokyo) and didn't have to reserve any type of special seat. I hope this helps!

Thank you for this excellent video. We are planning a trip to Japan next month. We want to visit Kanazawa for two nights. My wife is Japanese and from Yokohama but has never been to Kanazawa. You showed and explained several really important things to know than no one else shared. That we could get a hotel room with a washing machine, that there is a bus that goes a circle route around the city and it is reasonable. I also love that you travel with your father. Too many of these travel video’s pretend that they are traveling alone. Thanks again and Cheers!

Are the outlets the same as in US?
@remishimazu
@remishimazu 8 ай бұрын
It’s mostly two prong outlets in Japan! I’ve found that most hotel rooms have one (sometimes two) three prong. So if you need multiple I’d get an adapter. I hope this helps!

Why are you wearing mask??????
@remishimazu
@remishimazu Жыл бұрын
This video was filmed when the government still required masks in Japan. But masks are nothing new in Japan. Japanese people wear masks for multiple other reasons like allergies (Japanese people are prone to hay fever in the spring), when they have a cold (as a courtesy to prevent spreading germs to others especially on public transportation), to keep their faces warm, etc. As of March 2023, masks are no longer required but you’ll still see lots of masks worn. I still wear my mask sometimes on trains and outside because my allergies are horrible in the spring! I hope this helps provide some context to masks in Japan!
