@FishKeepingAnswers my tank wasn't made for breeding, so I only have a hob filter, I'm now hoping they don't get sucked up 😬😅

the most standard veg you can feed the shrimp i`ve found is boiled cucumber it can stay in the tank a long time as long as you monitor it and the shrimp will only leave the skin from the slice when they`re finished

I kinda like how bug bites float & sink as it distracts the guys surfing the top while the guys at the bottom get some too.

I really like the flakes because they're easy to crush into tiny pieces and will then get stuck in the java moss where the baby shrimp can feed on them. For general feeding I also switch between 4 or 5 different types.

I breed loads of Caridina and I find Snowflake Shrimp food is a must. Its made from Soybean husks. High in protein and does not foul the water at all, and the shrimp come back to it for days. And also works great as a Holiday food. I also feed boiled Baby spinach once a week. Very good for Shell development in Juveniles. Other than that I use Ebi Dama, HWA high end Shrimp food. As well as Mulberry leaves / Cattapa leaves as you mentioned I keep things very varied.

I think if you have fish and shrimp together, it's worth putting some flake and sinking food together. The fish will usually go after the flake and let most of the sinking food go to bottom feeders and shrimp.

Thank you for the vid Richard. Can we have a video about pest snail? Any solid methods of getting rid of them?
@davexstuntman11 ай бұрын
I was overrun by bladder snails, no problems with Malaysian, Rams or Magics. I used some cheap eBay snail traps and cleaned out hundreds in a few days with alga wafers as bait, the remainders get squished against the glass and become food. Beast of luck 😀👍
@hebasedd11 ай бұрын
@@davexstuntman i have managed to reduce the population to a dozen or so, however, 2 snails can very quickly become 100 again which is super annoying. The issue I have is, selling plants, I don't want to sell plants with pest snails.

This can be a problem. Due to the cost, it's sold less often than other foods, meaning retailers are reluctant to sell it. My advice is just go for it, you won't regret it, and a tub lasts for ages.
