Glock is a great platform. I've started with striker fired guns, primarily Glock, but have grown to love DA/SA guns and revolvers.

I’m a CT resident also and I’ve been watching you for a while and I’ve picked up some great tips over the years. For example, because of you covering it on your channel, I got that TRex Arms extended flashlight mount for the AR to reduce suppressor shadow. It works great! I am a local PD Officer where my department just switched from Sig P320 .45cal (which I really liked) to the Glock 45 with a Holosun 509t. I have to say I liked it more than I thought I would and the transition to red dot from pistol irons was very successful for me. I’ve always qualified 295 or 300, but with the new set up I qualified 300 with 40 out of 60 in the 10 ring! Very happy with it! 😄👍

Love following your journey through different platforms. I had a motorcycle accident recently and I’ve really been enjoying your videos while I’m recovering. Excited to see what comes next. I’ve settled on the excellent Walther P99. DA/SA striker fired goodness. I switch between that, my S&W 19-4 2.5”, or my J frame model 60 depending on my mood and the weather.

Being a younger guy myself I started off with striker nines thinking it was the only way until I got curious and tried DA/SA pistols and it really changed my perspective and I think I'm starting to prefer them. Nothing beats the cool factor than a big bore wheel gun. They're like the manual transmission of guns.

Good for you. I enjoy your channel no matter what you shoot. Looking forward to your take on the modern handguns. Maybe get a glock 43X or 48 for the summer.

It should only matter to you. You are the one carrying whatever firearm it may be, not us. At least you actually carry. Some people are scared of inanimate objects. They are scared of themselves because they don't trust themselves, so they think everyone else would make the same mistakes. Practice and train if you are able to, it's better than carrying a stick. Stay safe and God bless. 🇺🇸👍

I just started doing the same thing with DA/SA. I’ve been carrying my CZ P01 lately. J frame on occasion and shooting full size metal, hammer fired guns. The tactical Tupperware won’t go away. I go though phases between hammer and striker fired

Love this channel since you tend to carry or at least collect and talk about handguns that interest me. Always interesting to hear your takes on how well certain guns are to carry and how they feel throughout the day. A polymer gun does seem like a very practical and affordable choice and especially due to the light weight. I could see it become one of the more common EDC choices for you. I go through phases of being really obsessed with certain kinds of guns. Sometimes its magnum revolvers, sometimes its DA/SA aluminum frames like Beretta 90 series or SIG 220 series. Always end up coming back to 1911s as well. Definitely curious what you have to say about more double actions and striker fired semi-autos. I learned a lot about revolvers and 1911s and will probably revisit some of those earlier videos since I still want to own some guns like that. Definitely also curious to hear what you think about things such as the Walther PDP and Smith & Wesson Shield Plus. Also how you would rank main military DA/SA guns based on which you've handled. Between the Beretta 92, SIG P226, CZ-75 I'm thinking I might prefer the 226 as a base model compared to base models of the others. But I think a Wilson Beretta or one of the enhanced CZ like the Shadow 2 I could see myself liking more. Really hoping I can try some of these out someday for more perspective. Cheers!

Great timing on this one hah. I just sent my 340pd (that you convinced me to get) back to the mothership for service and am back to carrying the glock until it returns. Also… appreciate the recommendation for the Mika pocket holsters you did a while back. A++ on that!

I think it’s intelligent to have an open mind. I’ve always preferred glocks but I picked up a .38 snub as well and it has its uses. With your attitude about self defense I think you’ll be fine no matter your choice because you train quite often.

The revolver is more reliable though; I think that's it's main appeal... They're kinda niche, and there's a different mentality with them. Semi-autos are admittedly easier to shoot - but not as inherently accurate. But both platforms are effective, and it's a matter of personal preference.

Curiously, I shot about 100 rds last week thru a G19 w/an optic. I still don't like the grip width or angle, but it was easy enough to get things done efficiently. Although I love my 1911s, P229, etc. the 19 was much easier to shoot, but not as accurate & w/not as much 'cool gun factor' as the others I mentioned. Perhaps that's its mass charm?
@jmsenaАй бұрын
Watch a couple shorts about how to grip a Glock-you gotta be cool with letting your palm not fully contacted with the back strap like you would a more vertical grip you describe. Once I let go of needing to feel all of the back strap my shooting became much more consistent.

Dear Sir, I would like to hear specifically YOUR opinion on your RC762 suppressor on your that DD 16" upper (5.56) if you could please. I said it like this because I cant trust all those other videos of other people who does all those advertisement of products. Appreciate it.
@TheOl1911Ай бұрын
So I actually do not use that suppressor much at all. It was originally for a SA58 (DS Arms) and the project kinda fizzled out. Now I should say Surefire suppressors are basically the only rifle suppressor I have experience with. I know other brands can offer better but for my circumstances I have Surefires. Honestly if I were to get a suppressor I'd look at different brands. Was there something you were specifically interested in?
@MrTanimgtАй бұрын
@@TheOl1911 Thanks for the reply and yes I actually wanted to know if this particular can (full size) will suppress enough on 16" 556. I only have the rifle that came with SF muzzle device and also have an AK, so I was thinking (because it's not cheap) if I can buy this suppressor and use it on both. And I saw you have the perfect match equipment to provide the information I need (if you want ofcourse). Thanks.
@TheOl1911Ай бұрын
@@MrTanimgt I tried that can mainly on a 7.5" 556 upper to see what it could do and it actually bent the op rod in that upper (Adams Arms PDW) so not sure what happened. When I did fire it through the 16" 556 I felt it did its job just fine but I put it away as I had thoughts of doing a 300blk build to using it on the DS Arms SA58 OSW. So not many rounds have been through it. I'm still thinking a different 762 can by another company might fit the bill better (less expensive) for your application. I believe if you had no ear pro with this RC762 on a 16" 556 it might be hearing safe. I really have no experience with AKs so not sure how the RC762 would do on that.
