I would like to try one seeing I can’t afford a Korth even though Nighthawk I think sells them here in the US but Spohr looks awesome and want to know more

I have a spohr 284 and korth mongoose. From reading I thought the spohr would be a step above the korth. In my sample, I believe the korth is higher quality. Edit: I wish I had gotten the club edition. It appears to be higher quality.

@@TheOl1911 I actually got it off gunbroker. There were about 11 when I got it and only 2 club editions. While the process is much easier then importing, it’s a gunbroker transaction so it’s a different pain in the ass. I cannot say I know for sure, but I imagine the club edition is higher quality. That’s not to say the carry is not a high quality revolver. I think it’s closer to Korth than a “high end” smith or colt…much closer. I used to have a 3” mr73 before beretta came into the picture and I believe it to be higher quality then the carry spohr. It also “feels” more substantial than my mongoose but that’s pretty subjective. I really wish I spent the money on the club because I THINK it’d be a better comparison to the OG mr73 and mongoose. Now I’m in a position that I can’t look at the club edition unless I sell something. The spohr carry does have a trigger that is almost as smooth and clean as the Korth. I can’t compare it to the 70’s python because those just feel different. I only have precisely 100rds through it so far so I don’t know how much it will clean up. My intention is to wait til things get better but if they don’t soon enough, I’d sell it to fund a club edition.

@@digitalpunk5365 Sounds like the Importer has 'inventory' then?? I was under the assumption they were importing them 1 at a time. This is very valuable info on the 284 Carry so I appreciate it. This is all good food for thought!

A handgun is what you use to fight your way back to the long gun you shouldn’t have been without in the first place. I’ve pocket carried the 340PD FOR THE LAST 25 years. It is always on me, know it will reliably deliver five shots, and is light/small enough to carry in just about every scenario.

That safety is the LBC Single Combat Safety which is his widest and his standard width. It's too wide for me as my thumb does not ride the safety when shooting. It also digs into my holster or side it is so wide. Left side lever is 0.450” O.A.W. off the frame. The LBC Tactical Safety is an improvement and great. Slightly thinner for comfortable carry but still wide enough to thumb ride if you choose. The Left side lever is 0.357” O.A.W. off the frame.

I owned three WC 1911’s and the compact version isn’t worth .10 cents. It’s too small and it makes sighting in next to impossible. If you really want a great WC 1911 give the ACP model a try. It’s a finally made pistol and if you put a tritium front sight on it and practice, practice, practice your skill level will be second to none.

As an MR73 owner, I can tell you that it is the highest quality revolver I have ever seen. For frame of reference, I also own a 1965 Python. The Python is wonderful, but not as nice as the MR73. My old Smith and Wesson revolvers? Wonderful guns, but not as nice as the MR73. My only negative for the MR73 is very much a personal issue. The grips do not work well for me. Most people love them. I replaced mine with Nill grips and I am thrilled with them. Thousands of magnum rounds later, I am very happy with my MR73. You do have to realize that it is precisely fitted and requires regular cleaning, but if you drop 3K on a firearm, I hope you have enough sense to maintain it. Ignore the trolls. They don't own one.

Nightwood Guns here on KZfaq has a video on the Spohr 283 Carry, if you're interested... I have it saved; haven't watched it yet. Supposedly it's really good. It's 100% forged; no MIM internals. He may be an actual owner - but I'm unsure about that. It's way out of my price range, lol.

Guns are the last stand against the universal Dollar General standard. It is great to still have overtly well-made, proudly made, and almost jewel like guns. It is delightful to have guns from all forms, be that simple and dependable glocks/M&P's, to stuff like Korths or Spohrs. High value priced and expensive alike there is room for all guns! I have no idea why people constantly crap on guns or the people who buy them. I have found over the last 13 years of gun ownership is that the people that talk some big talk and snuff their nose at others have no f***n clue what they are talking about and shoot very, very little.

I own three Korth revolvers one in 44 mag and two in 357/38. I've owned my NXS the longest and I have lost count of how many rounds I have shot through that revolver but its well into the 1500-2000 round mark and 90 percent of it is full power magnum loads. It hasn't skipped a beat in all those rounds and It is in my regular carry rotation along with a Nighthawk Commander in 10mm. There is something about the SPOHR revolvers that isn't appealing to me. I can't really say for sure what it is either I think it's mainly aesthetics but cant say for sure. I have a friend who is also a fan of the higher end firearms trying to get one so I am excited to see and shoot one but until he has one in hand I'll stick with Korth.
