This is my favorite James Bond movie. Not only is the story great, Daniela Bianchi is a beautiful heroine and the music is the best. I love Matt Munro’s version of the title song. ❤️👍❤️

Thanks for this one! From Russia With Love remains one of the Real Classic James Bond films, and one of the few that was as faithful to the feel of the original novel as well.

doesn't that novel end up with Bond dying? Or something along those lines, anyway. He gets stabbed with a hidden blade and collapses... it's been a while since I read the 007 novels.

Correct. The original novel had 007 tagged by Rosa Klebb's poisoned shoe blade. Ian Fleming had become briefly disenchanted with Bond & wanted to kill him off. What he didn't expect was the fan backlash, similar to what Sir Arthur Conan Doyle received from the public when he originally killed off Sherlock Holmes in The Final Problem. Reaction was such that Sherlock returned in The Empty House.

@@dinomonzon7493 The director Terence Young was obviously smarter than Fleming. He knew already after the first movie “Dr. No" that Bond should not die.

@@labjmh “From Russia With Love” was Fleming’s 5th novel, published in 1957, so he could be excused as a writer for thinking that he said all he cared to say about the world of 007. It was only after JFK’s glowing reception for the novel and the huge subsequent sales of his books that Fleming realized he was on to something.

Watching a earlier bond movie used to be an experience in itself all together, Sean Connery,Roger Moore were the great suave and sophisticated guys of the m.i.6 brigade and all heroines and even the extra had that terrific factor X , style and glamour.

One of the best Bond films; hard core Cold War confrontation set in classic locations with international beauty contest winners cast as Bond girls. Connery was as suave as ever in this one. Real Cold War adversaries gave it a real feel absent from all the films in which the mythical Spectre was bent on world domination.

At 1.43, when Barry's Bond theme kicks in it always puts a great big smirk on my face. Incidentally they made this the second Bond movie after JFK stated that the book was in his top ten reads, also it was Connery's favourite Bond movie of his own.

He hated Goldfinger because he thought it ridiculous when Oddjob crushed the golf ball in his hand. This has the best supporting performances of all the JB movies.

Matt Monro singing this tune is epic. It was released in 1967. He sounds so Sinatra-ish.

@ behindthethrone. You're right that Matt Monroe's singing voice sounded similar to Frank Sinatra's, but I like Monro's voice even better because he had, in my opinion, a more distinctive sound to his voice than Sinatra.

My best theme song. Sexy and melodic plus vintage and modern. By far makes sense in its difference from all the others. Specially from the middle to the end . Adorable when I listen to it in all serie movies -each by each- on action scenes! 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍

Fue la primera de la serie que llegue a ver a mis 6 años por allá por 1964 y a través del tiempo cuando salieron en VHS y luego en DVD llegue a conseguirlas todas antes de que acá en Panamá desaparecieran todos los locales de ventas de películas por la llegada de las plataformas de alquiler por cable e internet. Así que de vez en cuando hago mi propio festival de cine para recordar esta memorable saga de Mr. Bond, James Bond , Agente 007, con licencia para matar. Saludos !
