Thank you for this interview! I’m a single guy of 32 years, working in IT, having my mom staying alone in India. I am too moving to India in the next two years. I’m a little worried about the comfort zone honestly, but just gonna have a strong fighter spirit and make the move! :)

Firstly thank you for this initiative. This is amazing. Most of the interviews you have are people who do not have kids. Have you spoken to folks who have kids and been there for couple of years. That way people get into routine and then start seeing some real issues and then the real points come out (in either direction)

I found myself returning backhome while applying foreign national citizenship , And I always struck in my past memories of my Village and Dad. Indeed , I will be most valued as a person where I born and brought up. I am getting there to bury my memories and soul next to my family rather focusing on my career. But my experience will be shared and used 300%(3 members) with my community where I born & brought !

A lot of the first wave of Indian immigrants (mid-late 1960's) said the same thing: they'd study, work for a few years, then go back. But as time went on they stayed back in the US, and are the founding forefathers of the Indian community. Quite a few did go back, but many of them ended up coming back - or are doing their best to get their kids back into the US.

I moved to India in 2018 after 15 years in US with 2 kids who grew up in US. We loved 4.5 years in Bangalore, India during some of worst time due to Covid. I joined Amazon in a senior role in India so I know that work life will be tough. I didn’t expect 4 hours travel time on top of that. We had a great life in India before Covid started. We decided to return to US due to kids higher education.

This was nice. Can you also interview someone not having the luxury of smooth transition of job within same company in India? I mean from viewers perspective "moving back to India" as thumbnail kicks in lot of interest in knowing about people who really didn't have the smooth setup as this couple. Someone starting from scratch again.

Getting out of the comfort zone is not an easy task for me when your life partner is not on the same boat. For instance my wish is to go back to my country & whereas my wife and kids are not onboard of this opinion. Hence I have to find peace within myself and trying to stay happy wherever I am.

People think that Hyderabad is now better with the traffic. It could be better now but will definitely get worse with the time. What was Bangalore’s traffic few years go? We don’t grow our infrastructure to support our growing population. Anyways people who always stay in any country without a permanent visa will have to go back some day or the other day and it’s good that they went back when they can easily do it. And going back depends up on many factors and personal preferences. The same decision looks good to them but not for another person with a different set of factors and preferences.

What I feel in India there is a thought process, if you move abroad then you are successful. Its something that you have done something great. Honestly I moved to Poland and its a great country with great people. But my life and heart is in India for various reasons. I never wanted to settle abroad ever but wanted to explore and live in foreign land. I am happy but happiness is in India and moving back to India will make me happier

True ... Many people see it so. Living far, earning a bit more or more, having an accent, behaving half firang, Indians appreciate but nothing can beat the vibe of India. We have everything here. Although, you live alone, per say, you don't feel alone here. But then I understand why people like to live there. I hope the government makes few changes in our country...

@Stephanie Ellison I agree with you. The sad part is the people who wants to stay in USA after their studies is that they are very much money minded people. Here in India a good educated person has to face lots of reservation problems trust me these people in next ten years time will be raising their voices "minority rights" in USA. They don't understand that a capitalist does not worry or wants to worry about your rights.
