The Rifle Gang only has a few rifles to go around. New recruits get sent to Orange for initiation. If they pass, they get their rifle. If they don't, they get a close-up tour of the gastrointestinal tract.

@@General12th I'm afraid the truth is even harsher than that. The real initiation is a simple fist fight against the group's strongest member. They just send all the recruits they *don't want* to Orange, and if they were somehow lucky enough to take out the cannibal, then the group gets a really strong new member and no longer has a crazy cannibal to deal with. Win-win.

There’s a bro named petecomplete that does rimworld challenges like this. He’s a bit dry and it’s almost like watching a documentary, but the dude makes this game look very easy. He’s done the ice sheet thing and he’s currently doing a desert challenge. You’re probably too busy to binge watch other youtubers but your should really give it a look if you haven’t already. Btw AA, you don’t need to pick up the smelting station and the cooking station to conserve energy, you can just switch it off

You don't need to uninstall things to turn them off! You can press that little toggle switch (or the keybind V) to switch them on or off. It's a type of "basic" task so make sure the colonist is assigned to that.

Actually, caravans in games usually follow what I call 'Skyrim Logic' Basically this means when you eat food you have less to carry, freeing some weight. This allows your caravan to move faster.

You can turn a non-cannibal colonist into a cannibal sometimes by force feeding them human meat meals. Plus it's fun to watch.

@@mirjanbouma Non-cannibals eating raw human corpses gives a debuff of legendary proportions. I remember there was a time when you could make pawns eat _rotting_ raw human corpses. The debuff was something like -50 or -60 _at best._

@@biglenin7306 it's a trait, so they can't earn or lose it. It's in the same category as "strong willed", "tough", "nimble", "pyromaniac" etc. You can roll colonists at the beginning until you get one, or get very lucky during the game with a refugee or by capturing one. If you want to micro- luck and choose your colonists' age, gender, appearance, traits, backstory etc etc then yes, there's a mod for that (it's "Prepare Carefully"). I hope that answers your question 🙂

Some tips: 1) If you're low on power, you can turn off the appliances you don't need by simply flicking the switch. You don't need to uninstall them completely. 2) Things, including corpses, decay faster if they're placed in shallow water. This makes them disappear even sooner.

my headcanon is that the reason why all this metal and drop pods keep falling from the sky as well as the survivors raiders who do nothing and then die is that there's some MASSIVE spaceship or spacestation right above the poles that, right before the series began, got hit by something and now theirs just debris falling everywhere and people are attempting to escape in these lifeboats IN SPACE! and the survivors what on to form the red worm marra and the rifle gang

Forget what it's called, but it is possible to turn off most appliances, like your stove and your smelter. I think the icon looks a bit like a lightswitch. Great series btw =D

The universe of Rimworld is full of people, and because faster than light travel doesn't exist there are millions of spaceships full of cryptosleep caskets slow-boating their way across the galaxy. Naturally it's a hostile galaxy, you've got archotechs, you've got mechanoids, you've got space pirates, you've got slavers, you've got the Fallen Empire, you've got random assholes, and this is on top of all the things that can go wrong on a journey that takes hundreds of years.
