We love Paul components but they are undeniably expensive. But why? We get a tour of the Paul Components factory and see what it takes to make bike components in the US.

I can't get over how great Paul Components is. I was having an issue with my Paul canti's(the bosses on the frame aren't mounted at Shimano standard, so they're too high), and when I thought all hope was lost I found out that Paul components has a phone number on their website. I called it not thinking anyone would answer, and after transferring to technical support on the directory, I was greeted by the man himself(Paul) on the other end of the line. I told him my situation and he was super helpful and was like, genuinely interested in helping me out. The best was that Paul's advice was what I was thinking of doing, which was drilling the shit out of the pad mount so it can be lowered/ In his words "You'll void the warranty, but it'll work fine". He didn't try to sell me on another product, he recognized that I only have so much money, and helped me make do with what I have. I highly doubt I would get customer service at all from a big company like Sram, and if so, certainly not at that level. 10/10 consumer experience. Paul Components didn't pay me to write this but they should

I don’t think they’re that expensive. Each piece is designed carefully, machined expertly, & is always the best version you can find vs the competition. Worth every penny, every time. Long live Paul!

There is something very satisfying about seeing an undistinguished hunk of aluminum get machined into a complex working part, especially for a bicycle.

An american bike hero in my book :) Love their stuff; timeless while raising the bar for modern parts.

Anybody who says manufacturing and factory work aren't careers worth pursuing is crazy. It's such a fun, challenging, and rewarding career field. Cool company. Thanks for sharing!

So cool to see all of the processes discussed in such detail. Glad to be able to support these workers who put so much care into the components!

Your best episode to date probably. You shine in these types of interviews. For what it's worth, I'll be getting some Clampers in no small part due to this interview. Thanks.

I have the Paul Components Mini Moto rim brakes on my gravel bike and could not be happier with the quality and performance. Great to learn more about the people behind the product.

I’m looking forward to this video, but considering their quality and place of manufacture I believe that they are fairly and competitively priced. In most cases their components do not wear out and will last a lifetime. But I could understand how some people may feel that they’re expensive, especially in an industry that is flooded with inexpensive, mass produced, foreign made parts.

I love Paul Components! I had the barrel adjuster break on my dropper trigger (my fault) and asked if I could buy a replacement part. Instead, Paul Price replies to my email, asked for my address and sent me two of them at no charge! I don't mind the premium price because their parts and service are top dollar! Love Paul's!

Man, I love this so much. I have so much respect for American made producers. I think we may be heading for some tough times, but hopefully after the dust settles, we will have more companies like Paul.

Another great interview from your road trip. I mean Grant and Paul in the same month? As a NorCal guy, I couldn't be happier. Hope you had time to grab a Sierra Nevada while in Chico.

Loving these tours!!!! If it were 15 years ago my friends would all be gathering together to watch these. Maybe some Klampers one day. Trying to spend as little as possible on bikes this year.

Paul is good people. I got to witness first hand how he and his employees helped the victims of the Paradise fire back in November 2018. That fire made me homeless for a short time and destroyed everything I owned. A few days after the fire I met Paul as he was on his way to donate clothes to a relief shelter, and he let me rummage through them to see if there was anything I could use. He's a good guy who owns a cool company that makes great bike parts. I'm glad to see that they are busy and going through prosperous times. Hmmm, I wonder if they are hiring...?

Jut had my gravel bike rebuilt and decided to fit some Klammpers after getting fed up with leaking Shimano hydraulic calibers. . Absolutely love them. 👍
