Welcome to our channel! Today we show the Front rotors, pads and brake pad wear sensor replacement on this 2015 BMW 535i xDrive.
Same procedure applies to all BMW 5 Series from 2011 to 2016 expect M5

Excellent video! Ive been fighting the anti rattle clip for a full day now. Replaced hubs, rotors, pads quicker than this clip.

Great video, I just replaced the rotors and pads on my 2013 550i, I wish I would have seen this video first…the tip about using the screwdriver to push the caliper piston in before removing the caliper would have saved me some time, I couldn’t get the caliper off due to the deep grove, finally decided to push the back brake pad back and gave enough room so the caliper would come off…also, putting the caliper pins in before reassembling the unit would have been smarter for me too…very thorough…next time I will watch before for a refresher…other vids I watched did not include this level of detail…

Doesn’t the 550 have performance dual calipers like the m cars? This is just a 528

@@gottgaame mine is a 2013 550i and the calipers were a setup just like this video…perhaps a bit larger, but not dual calipers…

Thank you 🙌🏽 You don’t have to replace the rotors unless they have grooves all over em or rusted on the surface that the brake pads touches!

Fantastic demo! Thank you. By the way, did that 535i have friction discs? The dealer told me I need new friction discs for my front brakes on my 2014 535i due to clicking in the front end. I'm wondering how hard they are to install since the service tech casually handed me a 1,300.00 USD quote.

This particular one didn’t need friction disks, friction disks aren’t very hard to begin with they sit between the wheels and the rotors and oh wow!!! 1300 for just brakes 🥲 people have gone crazy accepting such numbers making it sound normal

Hi great video mate,maybe do you know,i have now 348x30mm rotors i need to replace them,but i checked on realeom site with my car vin numer it’s saying 348x36 rotors,so i confused what rotors to buy???

Thank you! I would call your local bmw dealer (parts department) and ask for the rotors and when they tell you the price just ask em for the parts numbers and go off of those

Friend question? The same thing applies for the rear breaks and rotors and sensor? What about the parking 🅿️ break which it’s in the rear. Thank you

The concept is the same but the calipers are electronics because of the electronic parking brakes so you would need to put the calipers in service mode before you press them back and you will need an OBD2 scanner for that I know Autel / snap on or launch would be able to put the EPB in service mode it should a be under “functions” or “hot functions”

Idk ab a link but if you still need them and know anyone who has a certified garage business I’m sure they can order them for you. Also make sure you get new hardware

No service modes to be messed with in the front ? And why can I not just push the caliper piston in with a C-clamp ?

The service mode applies only to the rear brake job because they are electronic Calipers, you could use a C LAMP on the front and on the rear as well except for the rear you have to put the calipers on service modes first

Hi, very well explained and simple to understand! Was just wondering, if I were to upgrade the calipers and rotors from a 520d to a 530d, would a brake pump upgrade be needed, also? Thanks in advance!

Thank you!! I am glad you like the video! And I am not certain about the brake pump upgrade I would advise to check the bmw catalogue for the part number of the pump on your vehicle then see if that same part number is used on the cars using the calipers you want to upgrade to
