Vigil's whole crux of problem is *needing to block while not being tanky.* There are two ways to fix this: make the wolf tankier OR make it so that his talents are active without blocking enemy

This is the first time I've seen a plain big "No" answer from Frostbyte, but I'll keep building him after done with other operators since CC#11 is coming in a month. But yeah, I hope in the future, HG can make the module upgrade to make him more usable.

At e0 he just comes in as one of the best clue speed guys. And he's got that block 3 niche. Useful but not as a dp printer or dps.

I know its a pretty niche use but he is actually amazing for lvl q gaming runs, not having to worry about an op taking dmg because its just his wolf is very useful.

The wolves should have stacked stats, not lives, sure that would take out the bait mechanic, but it's a trade I'd have been willing to take.

Vigil is actually a good operator to build since he can do a Vigillion damage to a slug

It's kind sad that none of the AK content creators are even kinda ok with Vigil. But you gotta go out far of your way to make him actually useful and that's never a justification unless you just love the unit.

With bard nearby, the wolves have more sustainability Especially Skalter S2, it is great with the wolfpack

god i'm so salty about his kit, especially after i just finished the whole siracusa story. he was an interesting character w/ good development too, it's such a shame his combat potential got trashed so hard you could feel some kind of hidden grudge from the kit maker against him :(

I'm kind of sad Vigil isn't a better unit. I had all mats ready for all three 6 stars when event started and I really like his trait as a vanguard sniper but I guess he'll end up as just another unit that is not used.

I did build vigil and sadly I use S1 all the way :) He's pretty useful for my defensive strategy. And yes, that's about it. If his S3 got buff like gain 1 wolf spirit per cast, will surely use him more.

My idea for vigil skill set: Talent 1: since muelsyse clone also got skill, why not give the wolves a skill. The trait of the wolf is same as the original. (1 wolf shadow gain 1 block and additional hit). However, change the 25 sec to gain a wolf shadow into a skill with 25sp cost auto recovery to gain 1 wolf shadow. If the stacked is full, the skill will recover the wolf hp to max. Talent 2: When deployed, Vigil and his wolves ignore 200 def and 10 res for enemies blocked by wolves. Sircausa operator gain half of this effect on enemies block by themselves. A support talent to sircausa gang suits his sircausa theme. Cuz why not ? Skill 1: Give 8 dp, gain 1 wolf shadow and wolves gain 8 sp. Just a little buff to this skill, helps to improve vigil wolves survivability. Skill 2: Give 3 dp, wolves gain 1sp and buff the wolves next attack that can attack all blocked enemies, restore 25% hp and inflict bleed(-10aspd - 10%attack) for 5 seconds. If only 1 enemy blocked, deal additional arts damage equals to vigil 50%attack. Vigil and his wolves gain 1sp if this attacks defeats an enemy. A unique debuff that can increase wolves survivability. The original skill 2 only recover a little hp that doesn't help a lot in wolves survivability. Skill 3: During skill duration, gradually gain 12 dp and causes attack hit 3 times. Each hit from vigil and wolves grant the wolves 1 sp. When vigil or wolves deal damage to enemies block by the wolves, deal additional arts damage equals to vigils 50% attack. Vigil prioritise attacking enemies block by his wolves. The original skill 3 has decent damage, however the wolves is too fragile to support the whole duration. With this buff, it helps the wolf to recover the sp greatly, which means gain wolf shadow more often. Since vigil heavily rely on his wolves, this mechanic helps to improve the wolves survival. It also provide unique debuff bleed when the wolf attacks the enemies on skill 2. Advantages: Wolves survivability has greatly improve. Makes him a reliable laneholder for trash mob. Disadvantages: The wolf shadow was affected by sp recovery, means that it is vulnerable to sp recovery down or necrosis damage(cannot gain sp, reduce sp 1 per sec and deal 100 arts damage per sec)

He does almost ok damage imo, he won't actively hinder you if you really want to use him.

honestly, they should have made vigil s3 into an infi duration and produce 1 dp constantly every 2 or 3 seconds after 2nd activation, plus make his wolf into a deployable perma buff for an ally instead, like how you deploy an op on top of another op in sss. Hoping the devs gets this idea to give him some kind of niche and utility.

I would say this is a hit piece because Frostbyte is a Penance enjoyer, but my boy was simply given a mid kit.

The problem with vigil is that his utility begins and ends with damage. He has good damage and 3 block count and thats it. His wolf is way too squishy to block slightly stronger unit.

i did build him. i think his wolf pack with 3 block ignore armor is really amazing and his role is vanguard so low tier enemy is no problem almost can carry lane easily. but if we talk about his skill 3 i really feel like its trash. wolf can't tank elite so no matter how much wolf damage its not really worth anything at all.

1:29 Oof. I think this hurts me more than him not being usable in game. I kind of shipped them while reading the story.

It's like they tried to make him a DPS unit (which practically ignores his archetype's whole purpose which is to just stall early wave enemies) but they didn't go all out with his kit (low DP generation, wolf pack is not really better than the pig, and his damage is just eh).

Going back on this and looking at the current free 6star Lessing damn he is such a disappointment good thing I was still burnt out when his event came.

I built him for the base skill because why not at this point. I have more resources than I know what to do with at this point.

Skadi supporter solves the problems - both making wolves tankier and healing them, to upkeep max wolf stack.

Should you build Vigil for gameplay? No. Should you build Vigil for his drip? Yes.

In my case Vigil is actually quite important operator. Why? Sure, he isn't amazing but he is enough for my lupoknights squad. There are currently only 12 lupos available, and only two of them are vanguards. He can do a little bit of everything: Provide some blocking with his wolves, generate some DP, deal some arts damage... Yeah, he isn't great, and I wouldn't really recommend building him under most cases but in my case I took him to E2 Lv.60 on the day I got him. I didn't prioritize his masteries (Texalter, Penance, Lunacub and even Highmore were higher on my priority list) but just earlier today I started training his S3 after I finished Highmore's S1M3. Also, before anyone asks, yes, I also promoted Quartz (and max pot her) to E2 because she is also part of lupoknights squad. To be fair, a few not so good operators are very much needed in a squad with operators such as Texalter, Penance, Pozëmka and Horn.

I use him in is3 quite decent actually

i built vigil but i will only use him on s1, the wolf respawn is very long and the second he goes down he will get shredded instantly and fail to perform his job.

Well, the reason I leveled him up is so I can build the crossdressknights.

He's still going to be my new main vanguard regardless... but hey if ya'll complain enough he might just get some godtier modules so keep it up :D

On paper he sounds cool, but in use his wolf being frail and hence inconsistent is sad. He can deal so much damage but the second his wolf gets hit it plumets.

My 300 pulls and my result: -4 Texas Alter -1 Penance -1 Nearl Alter -1 Blaze -1 Skadi Alter This was my first time that I got so lucky and I didn‘t spark. Maybe I buy W or Rosmantis.

E2 at day one, no regreats! I know what situations i can use him for, and i don't like units that completely break the game anyway( my Ling will forever be unleveled).
