Here's an usually chatty video from me this week :~) Check out how I make my bath bomb frosting and glaze/drizzle recipes. They're super easy and add a lovely finishing touch to various bath bomb shapes.
Here in Canada it's a long weekend so watch this video then get outside and enjoy some sunshine! ;)

Beautiful Frosting & Glazing Bath Bombs! I love the frosting recipe! I really never bloom my baking soda but I can see why so many do. I always sifter my BS-CA and all the rest of the dry products first.

They turned out gorgeous! 💗 I love both of those recipes! I definitely agree with you about not packaging them too early! I’ve made that mistake before because the outer part of the frosting was hard but the inside was still a little soft and it all turned to mush after I shrink wrapped them🤷🏼‍♀️

Aw thank you! :) Ya, so frustrating when you put in all the work and get messed up on simply waiting for them to dry enough - I suspect we've all done that at least once! Haha! ;)

Good morning! I just came across your channel and glad I did! New subbie here...I love to support new channels that I enjoy, it's tough getting started. I haven't jumped into making video's yet but maybe one day I'll get there! Haha I make bath and beauty products, jewelry, chunky charms and even homemade doggie treats! Lol You can see, I love a lot of things! LOL ; ) I've seen these recipes but haven't tried the icing with the Coco B...seems much easier with an awesome result. Everything came out so cute. I find dyes so hard to work with I just ordered a bunch of lakes! These look great 💞 they are so cute from your fellow Canadian 🇨🇦🍁

Superluminal Healing dyes definitely take some experience but once you get the hang of them they’re ok. Lakes are fine too but you never get as vibrant colours with them and you’ll always have to use poly 80 so they don’t stick to the side of the tub or stain it. I use both dyes and lakes and typically paint with micas. Thanks for watching! 😊

Does this frosting get really hard? Hard enough to to do frosting on the top of cup cake bath bombs and be able to shrink wrap them? Thank you!!!

It does for me. I have a dehumidifier constantly running in my soap shop though so that helps thoroughly dry the frosting.

Thank you for the recipe on the frosting for the bath bombs. Are there any benefits to the frosting? Will it do anything in the bath tub?

Beauty By Bredice the frosting will dry and essentially be hard bubble bath. If you crumble it under running water you’ll get lots of bubbles 😊

Have you ever tried getting your ingredients from new directions aromatics out of Toronto? They seem to have more and possibly cheaper on a lot of items especially packaging.

Thanks for watching! I've used New Directions once or twice in the past but I'm a pretty loyal consumer and so I stick with what consistently works for me.

Would it be ok to add a fragrance to the Frosting before adding Coco betaine?

I would suggest experimenting with small batches of the frosting if you want to try that. I don't add fragrance to my frosting. Thanks for watching! :)

How do you store to get hard? I’m currently storing in a container with rice but doesn’t get hard

I always have a dehumidifier running in my soap room and put the bath bombs to dry near that. I also always package around 48 hours after making them so that they stay hard and don't absorb any moisture from the air again. If I've made bath bombs with frosting on them then they usually have to dry a little longer than 48 hours. You just want to catch them right when they're dried... not too early, not too late. It comes with practise, testing and patience :)

What do you use for the coloring in the bath bombs? I use mica and it’s just been floating on top of the water :( !

I use mainly water soluble dyes from Fizz Fairy. Sometimes I'll use lakes and to paint I'll use micas at times... but you'll never get the vibrant colour that also colours your water with mica.

You don’t need poly 80 in the drizzle mixture question what do you put in the bath bomb is enough to emulsify the cocoa butter with bathwater?

@@lilspuds690 generally, most use half as much poly 80 to the amount of oils in your recipe :)

Beauty By Bredice honestly I have no idea of the amounts I used. Essentially I add baking soda to the cocoa butter until it’s the texture I’m looking for 😊

How does this frosting perform in the bath? Just melts?

Brandi thanks for watching! If you just throw the bomb whole in the tub then yes, the frosting will just melt. If you pull apart the bomb and hold the frosting under running water it makes a bubble bath ☺️🛁

Cocamidopropyl Betaine. It's a surfactant.

How long does it take for the frosting to get hard? Mine are still kind of soft after 3 days

eliana rodriguez it can depend on your climate. I’m always running a dehumidifier so mine will get hard within 24-48 hours.

Ziba Khan it’s when you mix your water and water soluble dye with just baking soda. Then you spread your coloured baking soda out on a tray to dry. When the baking soda is dry you crumble it up into powder again and use it in your recipe. It gives you more evenly coloured bath bombs.

It means mixing your baking soda with the colourant prior to making the bath bombs. So, instead of starting with pure white baking soda you start with coloured baking soda.
